Jeffchiz's VW Golf Gti 2.0T fsi *A4 wheels, bit of interior tarting up*
I decided to needed to grow up and get a nicer daily car, had a budget of £5.5k, had loads of cars in mind but i knew i would only be happy with a golf gti.
This one was on ebay for £6k
Chose it on a number of factors:
-Brand new 6 month tax disc (doesn't even start until next month)
-Long mot
-Full service history
-Recent bridgestones all around
-Optional 18" monza alloys (ideal for upgrading to r32/s3 brakes) and 6 d changer
-79k miles, low for age and low for the price, most are well over 100k
-Only 2 owners
-Lastly she accepted my offer of £5.5k
I'm going to do the following:
-replace PCV valve (DONE)
-service ](DONE)
-Chrome tipped h/light switch (DONE)
-Front wings replaced under warranty (DONE)
-Longlife back box delete (DONE)
-ED30/R32 rear light mod (DONE)
-Pressed plates (DONE)
-Rev G DV (DONE)
-remap (DONE)
-S3 wishbones (DONE)
-Michelin PS3's (DONE)
-thermostat (BOUGHT)
-aluminium mirror switch (done)
-sachs 550nm clutch (bought )
-refurb the alloys (little tatty, might go a darker colour)
-Lower
-powerflex engine mount
-higher temp brake fluid
Would love to upgrade to the ko4 turbo(s3 spec), turbo back exhaust, fmic etc but that is a lot of money and i could do with paying the car off first lol
Might fit the r32 lower half of the rear bumper as i feel the rear bumper lets the gti down, it looks like a base model bumper with an exhaust cut out, the r32 bumper is a nicer shape, if i do this then ill get the sideskirts and front splitter colour coded to match

Looks tidy mate, the forge replaces the OEM DV, I wouldn't bother with one. Not really any point in venting it go for the GFB DV+.
I got one its a decent piece of kit and doesn't use a diaphragm so can't ever split. What other OEM DV's fit it? Lots use the REV G (iirc) OEM one over the DV+ on the S3 stuff.
I didn't realise the CD changer was there in them!
P.S wrong section you tard.

been looking at the GFB DV+ but i want the PTSHHHHHHHH sound ill give it some serious thought though, ill probs listen to you on this one lol
I'm not sure if my dv has already gone, its quite quick in low gears but seems to run out of steam in the higher gears, not sure if this is because its gone or because i drove my mates mapped tt with the same engine so im just feeling the difference in the map, or it could be a combo of both
either way ill replace the dv and then go for a map and see whats what
and i like this section

i just changed my original DV to the rev G as the diaphram had split and the car was losing power. I also added the forge diverter valve (same as the GFB DV+), this doesnt replace the DV but is a spacer and allows some air to vent to atmosphere to give the pppptish noise but doesnt affect the workings of the turbo as the setup as the ko3/ ko4 are not desiigned to vent to atmosphere (original design dumps airinto the inlet).
This is based on my research on the owners club prior to fitting the forge diverter. Alot say that the forge and GFB are a waste of money and lose power. I'm not so sure but the pppppptish is already getting on my tits.
Anyway, nice looking golf, hows the front wings? I just replaced my rusty bootlid, what an utter fuck on that was transfering over the original wiring harnesses in the bootlid.

on the sunday after buying it on the thrsday i had a low oil pressure light come on! not good!
so the car was booked in at the local german specialist and they picked up on various valves/sesnors that needed replacing and an oil breather that was blocked alon with other dodgy repairs where parts had broken and bits were missing, got the car back yesterday with a £500 bill!!
Safe to say this has been scanned in and emailed to the dealer, there is no warrenty on the car but every motor trader have legal responsibilities and i want the majority of this paid off by them.
On a plus point ive changed my insurance saving me a shed load of money, i was paying £90 a month on the vts and they put it up £30 per month to £120, i did some comparing last night and ive got it down to £37!! fully comp, i also went through top cash back so i am getting £25 back, im also cancelling a magazine subscription, these two savings are basically paying the monthly repayments on the loan BOOM!

The diverter valve has been replaced with a oem one, hence the above paragraph^^
i was going to go for a gfb one but when i rang AMD tuning it was too late to get next day delivery which with the bank holiday meant i wouldn't be getting the car back until next week i needed it back asap so i just left it to the garage to fit a standard one
the drivers side front wing is bubbling little bit ill get this done when i send it to the body shop
Next month should be remap time now the car is healthy with a new diverter valve and a mini service, then the month after a wheel refurb or getting some bbs ch's, then it'll be full service time, then ill get the bits on the bodywork done that i want doing ie rust sorting, rear bumper colour coded or changed to a r3s style or edition 30 one

If you bought it from a dealership, anything that doesn't come under a general wear and tear item, is covered for up to 6 months.. Saw it on don't get done, get dom.. But you also have to take into account what the expected performance of the car is, for it's age and price..
If it's from a dealer, i'd chase them up
On the car though, it's nice, not the biggest fan of grey seats, much prefer black if it's cloth.. But apart from that, i like it!

Just got an email back from the dealer basically telling me to do one because I didn't give them chance to fix it themselves, which unfortunately is their right however they said they will give me a free full service when it's due which is next month which will save me about £300 so I can't complain to much

I had the same issue with a bike I bought once. The exhaust went on it within the first week of ownership, I had it replaced straight away at the price of £200, sent a letter to the dealer and they replied with the same response 'you didn't give us a chance to fix it first'. Unfortunately that's all they had to say to be legally in the right.
Not a bad offer on the service though, nice looking car.

Finally got my private plate on a car since i took it off my bmw almost a year ago i knew all my in between cars wouldn't stay for very long so i didn't fancy paying another £105 until i got a car i knew i would be keeping, it would go on my red saxo however there is a chance they might want to inspect the car and the car is in no fit state to be taken anywhere lol

I took the car for a service down at jabba sport last monday before i went to le mans, and all seems good, good tread on tyres, recent brakes in good condition, wheel bearings all good and new etc only issue they found was that the front console bushes are a bit worn but still mot passable. Because of the issues i had straight after buying it i was dreading this service in case something else came to light but thankfully not!
Gotta get the cambelt done next year on the next scheduled service.
I also bought a chrome tipped headlight switch due to my old one being a bit rough where nails had chipped away at the rubber

Why did you get it serviced at jabba if the garage you bought it from offered you a free service?
