Default Jigs' Rotten Silver GTI - scrapmans dream

So, haven't been on since I scrapped my little VTR with a utterly beautiful VTS conversion which is I completely regret but I was skint and needed a cheeky cash injection so the car was the first thing to go. Few last shots before I gave it to the scrap man:

So, what shit heap have I bought now I hear you ask..

A 1999 106 GTI, 117k on the clock, the spec is as follows:

Utterly shit backbox
Rubbish toad alarm
Heat soaking air filter
A straight through eggy non cat system
Kerbed wheels with some Uniroyal Rainsports that are all illegal
HIDs for them dark nights

And enough rust to make a Volkswagon with.

So I lashed a bit of soap and water on it to get an idea of the paintwork condition, not to shabby:

The engine actually runs really good, and pulls well, however it was rather dirty:

Quick spray over with some cleaner and its bearable again:

Interior is like most, drivers seat looking worn but the rest in pretty good condition:

Onto the rust, the boot floor is not actually attached to the car on either side of the arches anymore:

Wings have been got at before, but a not so great job was done:

The floor pan is completely rotten on the drivers side and has hit the chassis rails, half the car has been plated over in a attempt to get it through MOT:

Haven't got any other pictures of the rot as of yet, but its bad to say the least.

No idea if I am going to save it, re shell it, scrap it or just sell it on, thought i'd write up a thread to see what peoples opinions are, I got the car for next to nothing so doesn't owe me much.

Wowsers

I'd take the engine out, then scrap the rest.

I don't get it - why did you scrap the sax? It looked a hell of a lot cleaner than that 106!

Scrapped the Saxo, bought a utterly boring Astra 1.6, still have that at the moment and bought this to make some money on the side or as a project basically.

Oooh, a Vauxhall is never a good move! But what was up with the Saxo I meant, as it looks pretty tidy?

The saxo was unbelievably tidy, I stripped it and sold the bits and scrapped the shell. Ended up making just over £2.5k on the parts I had on it.
