Default My 03' VTR being put back to showroom condition

Hey folks,

I bought a 2003 VTR back in March that I originally planned to take to track days. However, I've changed my mind and feel like i'd get more enjoyment in putting one of these old buckets back to like new condition, and cherish it, especially as they're getting harder to find now. I've always loved these little cars, so unless a nice VTS comes up for sale within a reasonable distance/price, I'm gonna stick with the R. it's a minter underneath, 84,000 miles, no rot whatsoever under the boot, sills or front struts, and the old guy who owned it before me had it for almost 10 years.

My first saxo:

A little daily driver I had last year:

The new VTR:

For context, the current daily driver (I still prefer the Saxo ):

So far it's had a new starter motor, cambelt and water pump, a full service, and a set of Team Dynamics 1.2's. The interior is also stripped but I'm going to put it all back I've decided. All it needs is a new front wing as it's bubbling near the front.

This looks like a nice clean example, keep going with the route your going!

I'd get standard wheels if your going for the OE look. Look for willsy for inspiration on his project builds as he does exactly what your aiming for.

Also just looked your from Peterborough, I'm sure I saw this & you at QD a few weeks ago?

I wasn't driving a saxo lol, I was in my daily runner, yellow Toyota Aygo.

Cheers man, I'll take a look! I do still have the standard wheels which will be going back on at some point soon when I sort out new tyres. And you would have seen me and a mate, we at mod nats and needed to get firewood, it was very much stripped still then

Our local scrappy has a mint one at the moment and fair amounts of interior in it as well, if you struggle to find, may be worth a visit, although it’s Crawley, West Sussex (Bridges)

But if you do struggle we could grab the parcel shelf at least for you and then arrange getting it to you etc

Default Now in the 16v club!

Latest update:

I managed to bag myself a one owner, 55k mile 2003 VTS! It's a bit of a shed on the outside and needs some bodywork repairs as well as a respray at some point. The interior is also horrible, with some horrible faux leather retrimmed seats which are going as soon as I source an OEM VTS interior. However, mechanically it needs nothing and is solid underneath so looks to be a promising investment. Links to thread here: http://www.saxperience.com/forum/sho...d.php?t=475536
