wont see much change from 8k for a nice one. rather just go for an EP3 CTR at that price. atleast you get 6-speed box and its a newer car aswell.

to make your saxo backfire is easy.
first off you need a straight through exhaust with decat etc.
ideally 2 inch bore all the way to back box.
next you need iridium tipped spark plugs
HKS hot wires.
revs the tits off the saxo bouncing the limiter as many times as you can. then hold the revs right next to the limiter.
turn the key and switch off and quickly restart while foot full down on the accelerator and hit the limitor and it will backfire a huge puff of black smoke and if you lucky a little flame.
happens on my mates dads capri. should be the same for the saxo

not many.
Jamming your FPR perminantly open works too. Will massively increase fuel consumption.
The properway to do it is to change the fueling on the overrun, so it keeps throwing fuel in when you come off the throttle, this fuel will catch fire in the manifold/exhaust and give you a nice pop

Generally, cars that backfire are RACECARS! Not road cars.
Backfire means overfueling. Race and Rallycars run SO rich with lairy cams, they try and pumps as much fuel and air in as possible. And because there is so much fuel going in, there is bound to be some that does not get burn't and just shoved through the cylinder. The petrol ignites on the redhot turbo housing or exhaust and BANG! Theres an explosion, just like in the cylinders, but it gets shoved down the exhaust and flames come out the back.
Backfiring on a race car is generally bad but they do it for a reason. They also run straight through exhausts with no restrictions hardly. If you were to have flames coming out of a car with a CAT etc, it would melt all the cells in it and restrict the flow, thus loosing power.
My car pops, not backfire. But thats just air escaping, not unburn't fuel.

Backfiring isn't bad, its a waste of fuel but throwing it through the cylinder does no real harm. Get some PT54 in there and love the overlap
