Agree witht the in gear performance!
Obviously traction is an issue, its been said but yes a 'slower' car can easily beat a 'tuned car' if the power cant be put down which obviously is an issue.
I think the way I have also looked at it is like this - VTR130s sax hits 14s, the AX with the same or v similar setup hit a 15.2 - but this could easily be down to the launch...Driver....tyres....Suspension etc etc yes there is loads that you could start looking into but a second difference is a hell of a lot in a 1/4! And IMo it does depend on how the car has been built and how its been mapped. Theres a difference between 'bolting on goodies' like you air filter or exhaust etc...but throttle bodies, different engine management via ECU (omex etc) is in a totally different league. It depends how the engines are built too, not just anyone can do it...some will undoubtably be better than others down there.. I work with engines all day long!

What psi do you run your tyres on up the 1/4 dude?
Get a paddle, you needs something heavier duty for your launches and power!

Itsafastworld85 just out of interest do you think 45's are over the top on a gti engine?

depends on the spec of the engine.
different specs will mean different sizes needed.
irc the PP longmans engines use 45mm dcoes - seems to work ok if a tad overkill.
think 40/42 seem to be very popular though on the 1600.
id get a set of 45s if they were cheap though and put the £££ elsewhere into the engine.

Will be a nice setup, went in vtr130s gorgeous sounding beast - veryy niiiice!
Ive got a 1.4 furio too had some light crash damage and got it cheap off a mate so going to probably repair it and maybe whack a BIG GOODY in it...But its another project along with the rs turbo...vtr...vts etc so feck knws..I have too many damn cars
