Well the JBL 507C comps are very good for the money, but they wont be quite as refined as say, the SPL 5.2's. But when you unleash that barrage of bass in the boot you're gonna need a pretty good front end to keep up.

I'd go with the SPL's mate! But if you cant afford it there is nothing wrong with the JBL's.

If i were you i'd tune the box nice and low! 30-34hz sounds about right. Proper little streetbasser! Lol!

You do know you wont have ANY boot space left at all dont you?!?!

Well if you let webby give you a hand doing the box then it should be alright mate. You will simply screw the amp(s) to the back of the box.

I'd go with the SPL's mate. Imo they are the best around for under £100. I loved them in my escort!

You raised the issue of the power handling from the JBL subs. They are rated at 400rms, which may seem conservative, but this is because they are so efficient they will sound great of minimal power. They are rated at 97db's @1 watt @1 metre, which is awesome tbh! A lot of subs struggle to get 90db's. 1184rms is gonna be spot on to power these mate! You best let me have a listen when its all done!!

Ahh nice! These work in relatively small enclosures!

Something like this would do the job, although i dont know if it will fit in a saxo or not...

Meant to use 1" MDF, which would make it about 4.1cuft before D.D.

I would mate, but i havent got a saxo anymore! Lol!

Im pretty sure liamB will tell you though, as he built a double box for the boot.

You could get away with a smaller box (3.5cuft), but imo 4cuft will sound better and will ultimately give you more output.

Yes, that box is to house both the subs. Im not sure if the port area is big enough for 1200rms, but i should think it will be.

It will, but you'd be best to get an uprated one.

Just make sure you consitently use 0 gauge cable and also uprate the big three.
