Now im not sure.. coonper heres one for you.. 2 of those jbls in a box tuned to 34hz will only just squeeze into a saxo boot, and then leaves no room whatsoever for amps. Any ideas?? what would you recommend tuning too? or would you get something else Help!!

Which JBL's are they mate? The P1222's?
How about just getting one of them, in a slightly bigger box?
Cus one is still gonna be enough to stop your heart! Lol!
Put it in like 2.5-3cuft, tune it low and feel the vibes!
Or maybe buy the 15" version!

Well id guess the 15" would need about 3.5-4cuft, so it still needs a big box, but that should go in a saxo no problem.
I'd tune a 15 to 28hz for some nice wobble, great quality and serious air movement!!

you know my views on tuning but if your sticking to 1 12" i would tune to low-mid 30's for some nice lows but still with some punch.

When we talk about tuning, we are refering to the frequency at which the sub will peak at.
So if you were to tune it to 30hz then the sub would be loudest at 30hz, which is quite low. So obviously it is gonna be very deep and it will move a lot of air if you tune it low.
If you were to tune it to say 45hz then it would be very loud, as the mid to high 40's is what the real SPL heads tune to, as the sub is actually loudest at this highgher frequecy, although it wont sound nice on music. Just used for testing with tones really to see how loud it will go.
Also, something else worth knowing...
The frequency refers to how many time the sub moves in and out per second. I.e. If it is tuned to 30hz, the sub is moving back and forth 30 times a second.
Does that answer your question?

Well it depends on what coil configuration of sub you get. If you were to get a dual 2 ohm, then you could show a resistance of 4 ohms to the amp, which will give you 784rms. Or you could get a dual 4 ohm sub, wire it in parallel and how a final load of 2 ohms and run the amp at full tilt! (1.2kw).
How about a pair of 10's in about 3cuft? That would sound nice!
