You will DEFINATELY need some fans or vents for that amp dude. You could risk damaging the amp and having to buy a new one.
Also i'd get rid of the 6x9's if your having SUBs underneath them, afraid its one or the other with subs and 6x9's in the boot.
Anyhow, its looking very good from the pictures. I'm just wondering why you have done it so neat with the scews spaced out exactly the same. When i did mine i just whacked a few nails in all over then covered it with leather using a staple gun (on the underside). Didn't get any pictures of mine though.

You have to take the seat out to get the wires under the carpet, as well as the seat bolt bracket at the bottom.

The 6x9's will be going soon, just got to buy/make a new parcel shelf first
I'll update with pics later, as they are slowly loading up on photobucket, but the neatness will all make sense

Final update for a while guys....but its complete!!!!
First up there's a taster as to what the build will look like when complete:
First thing i did today was route the speaker cable through the build so that i could finally connect the amp to the sub:
I then part removed the screws and taped over the screw heads:
Why i hear you ask, were the screw heads partly removed taped up?! Well heres the answer courtesy of half a litre of halfords matt black spray paint:
^^^ Can you see why i was so anal with the screws now?! ^^^
Floor half in, yesterday's wiring kit fitted into amp:
Floor in ready for subs:
Subs in:
Brackets added to stop subs moving and for a little bit of security:
And the one we've all been waiting for, everything installed and working!!!!!!
Theres still a few jobs to do on it, and these will be done over the coming weeks, so keep checking back as i'll update this thread as i go along.
Things still to be done:
- Carpet false floor and remainder of boot
- Improve boot lighting (LED's most likely)
- Soundproof boot lid (DIY job using some old cushions )
- Add Rockford Fosgate bass adjuster as my Fusion one won't work on the new amp
- Get new parcel shelf, or mod existing to move or remove 6x9's
- Try and pick up some cheap speakers/components for the front doors
Cheers for all the support and advice along the way and i hope you keep following my progress
James

They certainly do!!
If you shut all the doors and windows you can see them all bouncing!!
Spoiler is making an annoying rattle though if your stood outside the car and the boot lid is closed hopefully a bit of soundproofing should stop some of that.
I'm planning to take it to T17 in Oxford next year and get it tested to see how powerful it is

Chest freezer was the only clear workspace, so i decided that would be the new workbench, sod getting anything out the freezer!

Just a quick heads up guys, as you can see i have changed the thread title, as my boot build has now started a bit of a modding frenzy!
So you were following "Rockford Fosgate Boot Build Progress Thread" you are now following "Jim-Bob's ICE Progress Thread".
As you can guess from the title i've extended my modding beyond the boot...more on that next weekend though.
Check back for a HUGE update next sunday, lots of changes have and are be made/added since i last added any updates or progress
Cheers for the support you've given me so far, hope i don't disappoint with my update next week
Cheers James

Time For Change - BIG UPDATES!!!!!
HUGE UPDATE!!!!!!!
Sorry it's taken so long to get an update on this, i been busy with working and college as i've just started an apprenticeship so my free time has been limited recently, therefore slowly my progress down to to a crawl, but i've made a few changes since i lasted updated...
Firstly i dreamt up an idea and sketched it out and took all the nessecary measurements and got myself some more MDF...
...Any ideas what it could be yet?
Well i'll have to tell you becuase not got any more WIP pics of it as i kept making mistakes (Which i didn't want to show everyone ) and the camera ran out of battery, but heres the finished product:
And if you haven't guessed in a new parcel shelf, i will take some more pics of it when i strip it down again for a another mini project i'm doing with it, more on that soon
Next up was to get some new speakers as the 6x9s had been binned for the new parcel shelf and the OE front speakers weren't up to much, so i ordered some of these:
They sound awesome (considering they are just powered off the headunit) and a much better set-up than before (OE front speakers and Ministry Of Sound 6x9s).
After some advice from liam_b i made some 12mm MDF baffles to mount the speakers on (no rattles or dodgy fitting ):
The tweeters were then fitted to the mirror caps:
Finishing touches:
And finally the subs were stood up (Thats why the new parcel shelf was made).
Old set-up:
Sub-less:
How it looks now (note the notch in the parcel shelf to allow it to sit around the subs ):
Thats it for now guys, but theres another three projects in progress, two are waiting for parts though so it may be a while before i have them and can finish them off , also need to think about getting some audio carpet so i can carpet the floor, the shelf and the new WIP projects.
And as of tommorow i will be working 7 days a week so i won't really get much time to finish anything else off now till Christmas , but it will only be till April then i will get my weekends back and hopefully get to go to some shows next year too
Does mean i'll be able to get a VTS earlier next year though and i'm already planning a whole new ice build for that
Cheers for having the patience to read all this.
James

A Litte More Progress...
I checked with work last night and found out my new contrct doesn't start until tomorrow, so whilst i had the chance i got another little project completed on the car...
This time it was the boot lighting that had to be attacked...
Standard boring lighting:
No Lighting:
As promised from my previous post, how the parcel shelf comes apart:
Inserts added to fill in remains of 6x9 holes (can see some of the wiring and strip light in the last one):
New Lighting:
Down to my last three little projects now so hopefully over the next few weeks i should get them all sorted
James

Looks good mate!
Well done for a first install. Glad to see you binned the 6x9's in favour of the Hertz components.
If it were mine, the only thing i would do is build a better box for the subs. The current one looks pretty small. Hard to tell if they are 10's or 12's, either way that box cant be helping them.
If you're into hard hitting lows, maybe a ported box would be a better option for you, although be prepared to give up some more boot space. It'd be worth it though! Expect to see upwards of 140db's ported.

Cheers mate, quite happy with it all now
Yeh the comps are awesome, so glad i changed them now.
They are 12's, i've also thought the box was a little small, but Rockford Fosgate recommend smallish boxes anyway, never worked out the volume but it cant be far off recommended.
But its all being scrapped in 6 months time when i get a new car anyway, i'm bored of the trying to dial subs in all the time and the excess weight i'm hauling round unneccessarily as i don't really get much out of having them anymore , so im going for 2 sets of amped components next
James

Cheers mate.
Only a few more small updates planned now though as i've run out of time to do anymore on this project due to work commitments and it will be gone when the new car comes early next year.
But will update this thread as soon as i change or add anything
