I was always told with intercoolers the gaps should be blanked off around them as the air would naturally want to take that path of least resistance?

Really the simplest way of looking at it would be..
Whatever open spaces are in your front bumper should be ducted to rads/intercoolers/oil coolers etc whatever holes are there that aren't feeding anything should be blanked off.

A properly ducted rad/etc is as efficient at fitting a much larger one with the upside of less weight

There's a line from John if ever I heard one

I agree to a point. I've witnessed my own engine being held on a rolling road at 100% throttle, fixed rpm, making 375+ Bhp. Can hold it there as long as you fancy tbh. On the rolling road it's impossible to get the airflow in to compensate but I've no doubt it would be fine on track / road.

Notice we've jumped from 250atw in your first post to 350atw in the above - either way I speak with personal experience on both. I genuinely believe it's fine heat wise

i would like to think that the letter box mod thing ads done will cure my warmth issues.

if it does not then i will move my x2 oil coolers elsewhere.

it never ever got this warm up until now

I've done a LOT of reading into rotrex chargers lately and keeping the heat down in them is very important.. Either duct the oil cooler or fit one approx 30% larger. Whe. They are hot (over 80deg) you will lose performance dramatically.

im sure i can but i think you are missing the point.

my intercooler, oil coolers and radiator simply are nott getting enough fresh air through them. once i have opened up things at the front i am confident it will be much more happy.

along with the letterbox i am cutting from the bumper i am also making a dummy headlight cold feed thingy from a spare headlamp. it will help.

i own a pair of morrete headlights too but would rather keep them on the other vts. they would make a nice cold feed.

reading into rotrex... you thinking of buying one or just out of interest?

Well that's certainly better than nothing.. but.. Make sure you try and do it in a way that the air that you are supplying the cooler can't just go somewhere else instead..

Use one of these eBay number 300743536256

Already got one mate
