Default VTR Replace circular intake with panel intake?

Hi everyone, first post here.

I've done a bunch of reading off these forums and figured the best cost efficient intake upgrade I could do was fitting my 00-01 vtr (which uses the circular filter and intake) with the 01-04 vtr box intake with panel filter.

Just wanted to ask if, firstly, there was any point. And secondly, would the newer models panel intake happily fit in my vtr?

Cheers

No point at all, remove it from the car give it a good clean out and refit it with a good quality filter air box can flow loads more than the engine needs.
