Just wanted to say what has happened to everyone?? Been on all the other forums and there like abandoned ghost towns. No one is on and the latest posts are like from a year ago. This is the only forum that appears to be still going (just) with more then 2 people on and updates a day or so old. Back in the day you couldn't get a word in edge ways and all the 106/saxo forums where rammed full of updates and people.
I know people grow up and move on but i cant believe how dead all is now! I know the getting on abit now but saxo's and 106's are still popular. Im i missing somthing?
Cheers

I liked the Max Power generation, that was back when people spent real effort and money on cars and a lot of the modifying was done at home with people coming up with their own ideas. For the past 3-4 years the majority of the car scene has consisted of ‘anything low on BBS/Rotiform/3SDMs’. Which got boring quickly.
Nowadays, as willsy rightly said, the traffic has moved to facebook with it being a lot easier and quicker to post, especially when posting pictures, asking for help or buying/selling. It’s clear the cars are still popular, the Saxo/106/French car facebook pages are constantly filled with new posts and the majority of them receive a lot of replies.
Although you don’t see them as much on the roads, they’re still very popular, I believe it’s partly because the cars are at a low, a decent VTS can be had for 1k with a GTi costing a little more. It’s an absolute bargain for 19-20 year olds who have a couple of years no claims and want something quick and easy to modify without spending any real cash. I can’t think of any other car where you get so much for your money.
It is a shame that Saxp is dwindling. I’ve always found the forum to be extremely useful and friendly, even after selling my VTR in 2010 I stuck around to read threads and help others (where I could…), until I bought another Saxo as a project in 2015. Facebook can never compete with the amount of how to guides and problem finding threads available on this forum. It’ll be a shame if/when the forum closes. A lot of valuable information and excellent progress threads will be lost.

I think the 106 GTi, Ph1/2 Rallye and Mk1 VTS will be worth something in years to come. Nothing major though, they’re not in the same league as the Clio Williams or 205 GTi etc.

Surely running costs can't be much on this forum now? No reason for it to ever close.

The Brummie Times misquoted me (as per usual). I was discussing the sublime ride and handling characteristics of my 1955 Morris Minor.

Don't let Sax-P die! Good to see its still going, unlike most of my old Saxos!
Best forum by a mile. Some very fond memories from the early days (Oh, how young I was!) Nice to see a lot of the old school still using the site too.

The thing that put me off as well as quite a few of the lads I use to talk to on here was the influx of spammers with something like 50 new members every day with maybe 1 or 2 of them being actual people. It just gets annoying with the new post alerts on tapa talk and the likes. It's still going on in the form of kitchens and furniture but nothing like as bad as it was just seems the mods don't come as often to clean up.
I like sax p not many car snobs and the ones that come on snobbish get put in their place so it's a level ground to talk on.

We have a mk1 VTS group on Facebook that Willsy, Jiggins and myself run. The interest these particular cars get is certainly starting to push the collectable/classic boundaries now.
I do miss the car scene as it was, but then I owned a MK2 Escort back in 2001 not a Saxo!
