yeah man def... you see those model type pics that people have had done in london somewhere.... cost a bomb... one of the lasses above paid £200 and got 6 photos. not unreasonable for what you get done tbh but not reasonable f0 students.

yep why ive said since ive been there second year i want to use my house as a semi studio.
£50-100 a day get a cd full of shots. Had several people ask me to do work for them.
Just need to decide on what light set up i need/want aswell as flashguns im currently in posession of.
would then like to go and start doing uni balls, as there is HUGE money there

woahhhhhhhh steady one... I wouldn't give them a CD... then they're free to plaster that anywhere. Uni balls isnt huge money either... we [society] were in discussion with the uni about our grad ball... not worth the effort... plus they wanted full unlimited licensing for very little dosh. They thought they could pull our pants down as we're just a little society full of gormless students.... ney.

doesnt bother me tbh. If they pay for something i dont mind them using it wherever.
and also means i dont have overheads of buying a printer/printing fees atm.
what good would holding the rights to the images be to me? im not going to use them for anything. Id rather be less of an arse to customers about holding onto rights and have more students be willing to come pay.

if you are printing they are. when you are selling prints for £5 a go.
My sister worked for a company where she travelled around the uk doing uni events. The pay she got wasnt bad, but the owner of the business was making a killing.

ever since Audz mentioned using RAW I've been meaning to for the 40D... 10D I've done here and there but in all honesty I can't be arsed tweaking photos... I'm more concerned with getting it right first time. CS3 didn't like the 40D raw lol I've used lightroom for a while but mainly for leveling stuff as it's non destructive and I've had a few problems with CS3 overwriting stuff
It's good once you get used to it like most things... I'm still getting used to it.

good attempt buddy, i found that it was through 'playing' that i learnt most of the stuff. dont forget your inverse square law mate, if you double the distance the light is from the subject it will quarter the power. to get a plain white background you ideally want a 3 head flash kit. 2 lights for the background and a single soft box slightly to one side on the subject, this is a typical high key lighting set up that most studios use like venture ( ). to achieve this mate you want the background lights one stop higher than the main light. (thats the reflected light reading not just one f stop on the flash).
if i can find it later i will try and dig out some pics from a shoot i did using a ring flash, which is pretty cool as you get a ring highlight in the eye

I'm the same I prefer to get a good photo rather than a shit raw file but be a pc wizz to make it look good. Ive done a few raw shoots but allways just use the JPEG file anyway LOL

They don't need to know about photography... anyone can like a photo and that's the important bit innit
in other news...
Myself and the dude I was shooting with both got asked by a rather sweaty bloke from the society if we'd like to shoot Porn... noooooooo fucking way - even if I'm well versed in watching porn.
