Default 'Bargain £££' Simota Cais Enclosed Induction Kit

I know Jamie had one on his Icelandic Blue VTS and he highly recommended them, been looking all over for one and out of the blue i was searching for carbon parts on Ebay for the Saxo and look what popped up for £85.98 + £20.00 delivery charge (LA California).. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/CITROEN-SAXO-V...item439d206cb9

*Sorry for stealing the picture of your engine bay matey, just showing other what it looks like etc..

But Raceland are crap imo, don't look half as good as what these do either.

Does anyone know what these are like performance wise?

I've got one on my VTR as we speak, i admit they are good value but what a bastard they are to fit etc, must be the worst design known to man kind, you have to buy extras just to make it fit etc.

Urmm.. probably add about 2/3bhp maybe 4 depending on other modifications etc, on some websites it say 6/8bhp but in all honesty i can't see that happening lol.

I kinda meant in relation to other induction kits on the market. I'm currently using the standard set up with green panel filter as its been known to be just as good as some of the expensive induction kits. Only thing is I haven't got a cold air feed.. was thinking of making one.. Just wondered how this would compare really.

mine doesn't even have the enclosure now as only magic and witchcraft will keep a solid object mounted to one that moves without any sort of give

CPK he has always supplied me (had 3 on different cars now) as he's from the US his items are cheaper, this kit would be around 130-50 in the UK i'd imagine.

My somewhat biased opinion is I think they are great, they look uber nice and aren't so common. I'd imagine performance wise for them to be on par with the BMC but i'd always opt Simota unless I couldn't get one.

My car definitely felt alot more responsive, people questioned the alloy pipe going to the right of the bay, but it's fed of the standard feed in my car from the grill and it also feeds from the headlight area so it's a good source of cold air.

Aesthetically pleasing, cheap + performance enhancing = win

So what does the alloy pipe attach to mate just the standard plastic scoop type thing that comes with the standard airbox? Was it easy to fit etc?

The alloy pipe just has the trumpet on it facing downwards to suck in cold air from that area, so what I did was run my standard airfeed from grille to underneath the trumpet to give it a boost of cold air if you like

The kit is very simple to fit, the only thing I didn't bother with was the bracket because I didn't want to ruin the look of my bay but it rested on something around that area so all was well
