how to wipe a hard drive
wanna bin my old box for the pc so wanna wipe all thats on it as it has emails and various other stuff i cant be bothered sitting there deleting so is there an easy way to do the whole thing or just smash fuck outta hard drive?
its windows xp too incase that helps

The best way is to destroy the drive.
My sisters other half works in data recovery and its amazing what can be recovered.

Hammer the crap out of it. You can get software that acts like a shredder but destroying the plates are the only 100% sure way.

also why would laptop keyboard buttons be different as in the button labelled@ is actually " they seemed to have swapped around ideas on how to fix this?

one more quick question, with new laptop windows crappy 7 came on it but no cds so should i need to reinstall windows 7 how do i do that?

Windows 7 is good. I haven't had an issue with it so far since it came out.
To properly destroy the HDD. Very strong magnets, and drill through it. Then burn it. Putting it up your arse might help too

i hate it cos i'm used to xp and all software i had was good on there now its all outta date and has issues with windows 7 so have to spend a small fortune replacing it all.
but how do i reinstall windows 7 with no cd?

Recovery partition, usually a keypress of one of the f keys on bootup, will reinstall the manufacture software aswell most likely

pretty sure windows 7 comes with an XP mode, not sure if its a tool you have to download or preinstalled with the OS. check google... i cant be arsed...
