Music! Dubstep, D&B or Bassline?
Hi this has probs been done before but here goes!
Just thought Id start a thread about these 3 genres because there quite popular!
Witch out of the 3 is your fave?
Favorite Artist
Reasons for your choice or short history
Ill start
My favorite Genre is Dubstep, my favorite artist is Excision, I have been hooked on dubstep for just over a year now, and I find that alot of it is pants exept for a few artists that really create good tunes namley Rusko, Caspa, Bar9, 16 bit, Excison, Datsick and Downlink! i listen to all these and go to events around Brum
I first got into drum n bass then abit of Bassline but find bassline abit for the younger generation I still listen to Drum and bass and go to events at the Custard factory in brum quite often
And I am a fan of Pendulum there old stuff and the new line up

Bassline was mint for a while, it just hasn't seemed to have evolved much although you can't really change the trademark LFO bass because thats what defines it but meh.

Depends whats sort of bassline you mean mate, I'm from Birmingham. DJ around the town like...... I first got into speed garage and UK Garage when i was about 12, then started Djing it.
Loved the scene, The vocals and the organs. Then i got older, It changed a bit, (didnt sound like speed garage at all) the more grimier influence came into it, Still holding the vocals but more low frequency oscillation as the main point in the music. I also got into my DNB and dubstep by then aswell and experimented with other genres.... Bassline was still good, A lot of tunes with some nice female vocals and a fat sub warper to get you skanking, Started playin out at events at 15, 16, 17 and when it was vocals it was good... Then the MCing came into it, Unfortunately this opened my eyes to the idiots coming into this Bassline music. I've played at Premonition, Subway City, Oc's, Custard Factory, and Q club etc..... out of all those ( which were bassline nights ) Ive had about 2 nights in OC's that went really well, and the bassline heaven nights in subway city and Q club went well.... Other than that ive seen some right dicks in clubs and had nights get locked off over fighting ...Ive seen people Dotting fags out on other people backs causing fights. After all this, I just had enough and knocked DJing bassline on the head.
Now i just like to stick to my Vocal tunes only....Liquid Drum n Bass, Techstep dnb, UK Garage and Dubstep..... catch me at Hysteria Custard factory in Brum august 7th, Jump up set... and OC's on the same night, doing Dubstep
As for bassline, Its just another evolution of Garage....Depending on where your from, theres only one true garage that can still be played without making everyone angry, and thats Old School and i still play that. But i wont play any Mcing 4x4 bassline no more. Maybe the odd vocal favourite but Defo no Mcing.

Dubstep and Liquid Drum & Bass are my favourite, Netsky for Drum & bass and Excision for Dubstep, some great new artists coming up now, much more popular than the old crap
