DVD Writer

You don't need a sound card, the motherboard has all the outputs on it. You'll need a graphics card if you ever want to play games.. Intergrated (which is on everything) are getting better but aren't up to much.

24" full HD monitor.

Fuck it i may just go the whole hog and up the budget to £500

Which PSU would you recommend for like £30ish then?

And which sound card?

And is this the right thing to get USB 3.0? - http://www.cclonline.com/product/617...aptor/NET0235/

Does that just fit into the case somewhere or what?

Cheers for all the help

that is correct for usb 3.0 will just slot in to the pci slot on the motherboard.

http://www.cclonline.com/product/421...upply/PSU1207/

this will be fine for the job, good quality power.

as said, the motherboard will already have audio outputs so you can plug in your speakers, i dont personally have a sound card myself but have heard good things said about creative sound blaster cards so something like this should be fine!

Will second that power supply (OCZ) as being a good, underrated component as well (Corsair, OCZ, Artic are some of the best brands). Most people over look it but skimping on the PSU can cause problems in the future.

Basically, for £500 you might be looking at i3/i5 (not up to date on prices), but certainly;

Quad core/I3/I5
4GB Ram
2tb hard drive
Mid/high mid range graphics card.

That's what you will get for the money, and that spec, whatever specific components you decide on in this range in the end will beast anything. Let us know what graphics card you're getting though because the numbering/series/model numbers are a minefield!

Sorry lads my fuckin electricity went off all night and just woke me up coming back on there ha..

Right in my sleep i decided i'm gonna scrap the idea of a monitor atleast for now! Just connect it to the TV

So now i've got -

Processor - http://www.cclonline.com/product/681...essor/CPU0059/

Motherboard - http://www.cclonline.com/product/396...board/MBD1141/

Power supply - http://www.cclonline.com/product/421...upply/PSU1207/

RAM (2 of) - http://www.cclonline.com/product/655...emory/RAM0402/

HDD - http://www.cclonline.com/product/538...Drive/HDD1140/

Sound card - http://www.cclonline.com/product/196...E-OEM/SND1025/

Graphics card - http://www.cclonline.com/product/571...-Card/VGA0201/

Wireless adaptor - http://www.cclonline.com/product/124...aptor/NET1087/

USB 3.0 - http://www.cclonline.com/product/617...aptor/NET0235/

DVD drive/RW - http://www.cclonline.com/product/638...-Bare/CDR1127/

Case - http://www.cclonline.com/product/376...Black/CAS0119/

Total price - £457.33

Is this everything i need then? I've blown my budget way out the water here, over £450 without a monitor or anything else, but hopefully the components will be that good that this pc will still be considered pretty fast in 5 years time

Cheers x

You always do this lol, you want good quality.. don't blame you for not wanting 'poverty spec' though ;D.

That's mainly fine

That hard drive is disgustingly over priced. I paid £48 for 2 terabytes 6 months ago... They want £65.99 for 500gb. This is probably due to the floods.. The Ram, you probably don't need 8gb, but if you want it, it's only £18 so might as well, I'm not clued up on AMD but having a quick look that proccesor says socket AM3+ and the motherboard says it's socket AM3, I don't know if that matters, but they should match up, maybe mlawlan can fill you in, the sound card you don't really need as all the outputs are on the motherboard, but again it's cheap.

However the main thing is, you want this graphics card, as it's in the sweet spot for bang for buck right now.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/6770-875m-dd...3438337&sr=1-1

Only slightly more expensive (£69.99), about 3 or 4 times as powerful. They want £85 on CCl.

the motherboard and cpu will work together incase you hadn't already found out

as already mention hard drive prices have sky rocketed recently, pretty sure the tsunami had a massive effect there.

if you can, i would wait until the prices drop to buy one, but that depends if you have one to install an OS on.

that card posted above is a great price, if your not going to be gaming the one i posted will be fine, infact, even if you are gaming, it will be fine lol, all depends what games you play and on what settings !

have you thought about a mini mac dude, i got one for £380 that was with wireless keyboard, magic mouse, and tracker pad. They come with a built in airport extreme which are very fast wireless routers so you can expand your wireless range whist also using it for your wireless internet. They normally come with all the wires etc to hook up to a tv or screen if you have one and are a piece of piss to use.
