BT vision are on watchdog this week. I'd hold off a purchase until watching that!

I moved from SKY to BT Vision, because when I moved house I was on a very bad exchange that could only give me half a meg broadband, but 85 meg fibreoptic from BT swiftly persuaded me.
If I wasn't tied to a contract I would go back to sky in a heartbeat,
BT Vision is terrible, the TV is poor at best, the broadband is good, accept they limit certain sites after 6PM until gone 12PM,
price wise my bills are very similar, and i now don't have multi-room or sky HD, and the TV isnt on half as much as it was, because BT don't offer half the decent programs me and the wife enjoyed on SKY..
personally I wouldn't recommended BT at all, and there customer service is terrible, our TV lost signal Xmas eve, and basically they said plug my aerial into my TV and watch free-view, they refused to tell me what was wrong, telling me it was my fault, when it turned out to be a fault with the home-plugs, they never apologised or refunded for loss of service for almost 3 weeks,
When I was with Sky they was always helpful and if they fixed a problem they used to call back a day or 2 days later to make sure things was working as I wanted.

Sky all day.
Why would you go to someone who specialises in telecommunications for TV?
Sky internet has always been good for me, I don't have the free shit though as that is abysmal.

Mum switched from aol to bt. Aol were pretty shit but bt are worse. After 6pm speeds would drop to about 6kb/s then stay dead low until gone 8, until eventually it packed in completely on bts end this week!
Im with sky, had a couple of issues with the line dropping off, but they were quick to fix them, and get a minimum of 10mb/s, peaks at 20!

Probably the free service, that is notorious for being shite.

Had sky for about 4 years, then switched to virgin thinking it would be better. It's not. vbox is clunky to use and nowhere near as intuitive as the sky box, and VERY slow between screens/menus. Hated it. Went back to sky after 12 months on virgin.
Now have sky for tv, and infinity (75mb unlimited) for broadband. And we get the full 75mb. Job done tbh.

Because the TIVO box (not the older V box Ross is on about) is way better, and because virgin internet is 10 - 100x faster.

You may want to look at the original question dude, the comparison was between BT Vision and Sky.

Why would you use someone who specialises in satellite television for your internet provider?

Because they specifically bought an ISP a number of years ago who specialised in being... an ISP.
