if its in the footwell then check the 2 bolts (that attach the wishbone bush) under the carpet are tight as fook.
failing that probably drop-links???

You really need to jack it up and have a good look around, if your feeling it through the footwell though it must be either Drop links/ball joint/cv boot without feeling and looking around you could be going around in circles!!! K Buddy!

it aint gonna be a cv joint if it knocks when just going over a bump, if its a cv joint it will be more noticable when you turn at slower speeds,
its either gonna be a drop link or bush
or wishbone bushes,
take it to a garage!

CV joint is more constant knocking rather than every now and then. You can usually here a 'clunk clunk clunk' when either easing off the the throttle or when turning with full lock when its a CV joint.
If its every now and then its most probably a wishbone. If you get a wishbone replaced make sure that they replace the pinch bolts on the hub as they can get worn and cause a knocking and also cause your balljoints to wear quicker
