News update!!
Took the manifold off and its a phase 3 mani!! Balls!! Need a phase 1 or 2, werent too pissed cus its got a crack in it and would need replacing anyway... Means i need to get the correct mani before even starting the exhaust build, taking it to work tomorrow to see if they can build the downpipe i want ;-) need to order the cam as well...

Ok over the past few days have taken manifold and down pipe off to try and get downpipe made...
Problem 1
Cracked mani
Problem 2
Wrong mani (not so pissed about problem 1 now)
Thought train... Phase 3 mani... Could be phase 3 head... Off comes rocker cover and...
Phase 3 head!! Shit not allowed to use it!! Cursing later!! Now gotta sort it...
Also picked up some toggle switches for the centre so can have ignition, fuel pump, fan and push start on there :-) centre measured getting some metal tomorrow and hopefully get sculpting :-)
Steering wheel boss arrived today just need wheel for it, still awaiting the tow straps and the camera

Look what arrived today :-)
Steering wheel boss has arrived got some metal for the centre console so tonight gonna pull it out mark it up in paper and copy it to the metal for me to cut out and mount the switches :-)

Starting to pull the dash out...
Struggling to undo the bottom bolt to get the gearstick out, do you do it from the top or get underneath?
Any help appriciated :-)

UPDATE!!
Dash out!! More work than i originally thought...
It weighs a tonne!! And after having a good look at the heat exchanger and fan... Well there next inline to come out!! Along with a wiring rewroute... Gonna make the dash pannels and go from there :-)
More tomorrow :-)

Because it was really cheap in good nick and its got the right block and ancillerys :-) coulda bought one already done for 4-5k but woulda had to pull the motor apart anyways and i couldnt outlay the 5k at once

What block is it, I assume its got flat top pistons? Are the domed 1600 xsi ones banned?

There the flat top short skirt ones, and the block is different couldnt tell you how but thats the one they use obviously for a reason and the domed xsi ones are allowed but i think it just clips the valves with the cam thats in it...
