Need some help from hi-fi / amp guys... no one got a clue ???
Got these passive aiwa speakers from an Aiwa XH A1000 Digital Audio System.....the 2 big speakers state they are about 330 watt per speaker including the sub on each one.
Anyway, I am thinking about buying a separate amp to power them for some small - medium gigs I'm doing.
The amp will save me lugging the stereo too.
Just wanna know which type of amp would power 2 of these speakers / woofers.
Cheers in advance.

In addition to the above.... My apologies for not including this but...
The speakers are quite large-ish, with a built in sub on each speakers at the bottom.
The speakers have the standard Speaker cord which powers the sub and Main speaker..... and have a Phono (RCA) output for the high frequency.
So basically I need an amp that strong enough to power these speakers and has an L + R phono input to control the highs.
Also, needs to be small as poss and cheap as poss.

These are not hifi, and nowhere near the stated power. If you try to power these with a real quality amp, they're likely to fry. One of my mates learned the hard way.

Everyone gives me this answer... i know the figures are pie in ze sky. But thats not really the point.... They sound good enough for what i want to use them for... and i just want an amp to power them. Thanks for actually responding though.

I'm not surprised to hear that everyone told you the same thing but you're welcome. I'm trying to warn you that the as cheap as possible solution may lead to dead air, embarrassment, a waste of time, money and damage to your DJ rep. Besides, split frequency hifi amps are slightly more exotic and cost more than conventional amps . You have additional bass drivers in there because they came as part of a surround sound package that doesn't include a sub.

Yeah.... well im just sayin, i do know that they're not 330 watt or what have you.
Its no problem anyway, i'm gonna get myself 2 Passive Speakers with an amp and 2 subs aswell. Gonna cost me a bit but its gonna last and sound a hell of a lot better.
I wasnt denying your point Manu, i was just saying that i knew they wasnt 330 watt. I just wondered if there was a simple solution to amp them without too much hassle but yeah, it seems not, so im gonna get some proper ones.
