Websites what software do you use?
So looking at creating a couple of sites.
Im not new and know a thing or two but with the variety of things out there just wondering what most people do for websites..
Using Dreamweaver, photoshop or fireworks. Do you then put some jquery in use wordpress? asp.net etc etc.
Im only starting off a just small websites for companys but would like to know some ins and outs although i already know alot.
Do most people bother with dreamweaver these days for a smallish website or just make one through internet templates and upload for free etc?
Answerrs on a postcard.
Chris

I usedd dreamweaver before, not very user friendly even if it types code for you. Better for you to buy the latest HTML 5 book and start learning stuff or you might end up pull your hair off.
Here's how to start: http://www.w3.org/
http://www.w3.org/standards/webdesign/
Also learn meta data design, so to optimize google hits and open a google analytics account for monitoring.

Its not a waste of time i usually split the code and design so its real time in the changes made.

I know alot of lanauges already manu just wondering if people bother with dreamweaver photoshop and fireworks also flash or just use templates set out on the internet already.
If you know html then you know html5 it has a few different tags and attributes just better for media something the website doesn't really need.
The answer is they don't really, i can understand with the not so user friendly its also very expensive but in the end it gives great rewards.
Google analytics is great was told about this on monday by a professor.

Realtime changes in Dreamweaver yeah, you obviously haven't used notepad++ properly as if you setup FTP within it, it will upload the page to your webhost at every save.
Notepad++ is a great IDE for most types of coding, using Dreamweaver is the lazy way and in my opinion unneccesary.

Yeah hes like that... Pretty much got all of them sussed. I dont even know the amount of stuff hes got under his belt but he does ethical hacking too. Pretty smart guy ... coding doesnt really interest me tbh, i spent enough time teaching myself music haha. Fair play to anyone who can do it though. Its some serious brain ache stuff.

I do design for a living, teaching myself to code from scratch using notepad about 6 years ago was the best thing I ever did.
I'd love to design all day and pass the coding onto someone else, but there's good money to be had doing both.

I've used wordpress as static sites, loads of templates and things available so it's pretty quick to knock up. Not much skill in it though
