To be honest, they will clearly know its your car, but if the policy says its in her name and so does the log book, they cant prove anything!
An old couple near me have a 106 rallye phase 1, which has been modified!!!
So it can happen

The police are not allowed to generalize like that.

There used to be an old woman driving around in a puma with a full wide kit on it round here.

Actually looked really really good - she was well into her 60's at least!

the thing is anyone who is fronting is not being clever and "saving money" your not earning any ncb so your premiums wont go down as quickly when you do come to get your own policy!

they didnt pay out on my mg-zr because of this ,because the payments came out of my bank account they decided it had nothing to do with my mum and then wondered why she had 2 cars in her name and i was only named on one.
im on my own on my vtr and its 1200,
and if u have modded ur car eg lowwered they wont pay out anyway unless u have declared it

Simple answer to a complicated question:

Don't crash your car

Exactly, that's what Ive done for the last two years. Quinn wouldnt let me insure it as a named driver whilst it was still registered in my name anyway, they said it would have to be in my mums name for her to be the main driver on the policy. So they practically told me to do it anyway.

Saves shite loads of money, insurance is a friggin joke! I still pay about £1200

ive noticed now when you do, quotes to go on your parents insurance and you as a named driver the price seems to be higher than if you went on your own. :/

You can't just say insurers can't claim that your the main driver just cos you say you've seen older people with moded cars in your area, they probs don't have a 17 year old son on their policy do they.
It's even more obvious when your parents have two stock cars sat in the drive in my case a pug 307sw & an alfa 159 JTD, it doesn't make sense why an adult would buy a vtr and modify it when they have two nicer non moded cars and why they'd choose to drive around in a vtr.

I phoned around for quotes on my vtr and told the insurance company that my mum will be the main driver of the vehicle!
The guy said to me so your mum likes to drive about in saxo vtr with a pearl paint job, bodykit and chrome rims - I replied "yes, shes into modified cars"!He then said that the underwriters will have a laugh when they see that and not insure it!
LOL
