Importing itunes - Saxperience

Might be a bit of a dumb question, but how do i get all the stuff on my itunes on my old laptop on to my new one?

Never had to do it before

Can you not copy the music folders onto an external hard drive then onto your new laptop?

Yeah i thought of doing something like that, just wondered if there was an easier way!

Easiest way is as said, just copy over the iTunes folder from one to the other

ok, just thought you might be able to do it over network or something rather than copying to a hard drive etc

If you can link the two pc's and set up a file share, then you would be able to copy over that way.

you need to make sure all your music etc... is consolidated into the itunes folder. Had to do this a couple of times recently and its pretty easy just follow this:

If you are syncing an iphone for example then you will first need to authorise the new computer on itunes, then make sure that your phone wont automatically sync when plugged in. Then you can plug your phone in, right click it in the side bar then choose backup FIRST. Let it backup, then you can sync.

Once all done and happy deauthorise the old computer on itunes as you can only have 5 authorised machines per account.
