I listened to his advice a few pages back and said i couldnt afford the satchell kit.

Spoke with you and you said that you ran yours fine slightly pissed.

So thats what in doing.

If i cant afford to do something and there is another viable, tried and tested way then does that not make sense.

I really appriciate the help/info ect.. but its frustrating enough when i keep getting told to do it this way by one person then this way by another it gets frustrating

Sorry josh

Dude, you should do what makes you happy not what other people suggest you do.

Like you said it's your car, no one 'tells' you you to do anything. You make up your own mind from our advice - that's us giving you advice from past experience having already done something ourselves. Not the normal 'hear say'.

I think you got the wrong end of the stick, I'm just telling you I wouldn't do it on MY engine. There's nothing in there that suggests you HAVE to do it on yours

It's a forum, don't take it to heart. You must have seen the banter we have on Facebook lol

Here's some proper NA noise to watch / listen. Best part is the last few minutes if you get bored. I've been meaning to upload this since last summer lol

Afternoon girls.

First of all i picked up a few bits off seph.

Gauges
Inlet
Wideband

I Painted and assembled my struts.

I started to tidy up the wiring a little bit more.

Then my stuff from polevolt arrived so i could carry on tidying the wiring up.

but my manifold had also arrived, so i sat and inspected it for a few minutes, took some generic photos and noticed a few things.

Mainly this, does anyone know how much t321 stainless expands when hot/under load?

There is also a small problem when fitting, its nice and snug next to the alternator!

Loads of room between the turbo and the block now. Yay

Just have to have my V-Band welded on for the wastegate.

There is a list of stuff that needs welding so far so as soon as i have it all here and ready ill take my bits up to the local place and get it all welded up.

So far that consists of
-Turbo internal wastegate
-Screamer pipe setup
-External wastegate vband clamp
-Downpipe adjustments.

For the downpipe it fits nicely into the tunnel positioning wise.

but due to the turbo sitting on a slightly odd angle for some reason, it just needs cutting and twisting around i think.

possibly somewhere like this,

then turn it anti clockwise from the side we are looking to bring the end of the downpipe further down. fingers crossed it will be a simple cut and twist and weld.

Expansion will be fine.

Are you using an 8v or early gti alternator? If not, do. They're shorter.

Are the early GTI ones the plug in ones or the ones with no plugs just wires onto terminals?

Ill check tomorrow as i have a spare at the back of the garage.

If not i can always just trim the plastic down a little bit

I think he means the 8v/16v brackets Jack, the 8v gives you more space.

Love that manifold, looks sexy

Yes the Saxo vtr alternator bracket sits a lot lower on the block than the 16v hence why all the supercharger boys use them.

Ax gti one sits even further over

The angle of the downpipe off the turbo is very tight

Never messed with the ax so didn't no that but I'm sure you've got a much better chance of sourcing / buying a vtr one than you would an ax one.

How does the alternator move across without the pully moving? Thats confusing me.

And tight to the sump? Or the actual angle directly off the turbo?

It needs adjusting anyway so if im told it may cause issues ill just have a new one made up
