looking at piccie looks like you will have heat problems with ex down pipe +alternator as the cover and elec connections will be very close and are all plastic
something to consider

Way ahead of u mate I've got some gold reflecting heat wrap on order to cover the alternator it's close but as long as the downpipe comes out the goes straight down it shouldnt cause any issues but will see what happens only other thing is I could wrap the downpipe aswell ?? I'm open to suggestions

I've wrapped everything on mine , wastegate pipe, whole exhaust from the turbo . And will be doing the manifold when I get around to it . Also have reflective tape on the top of the radiator.
The heat in these with a turbo on are pretty bad as it's all so tight !
What management are you going using?

Well today seemed to take me ages to do nothing ive got the car booked into a powerflow dealership on weds to have the Downpipe fabricated I've installed my gauges today but only just realised they light up different ffs!! Also managed to tap my block and insert a stud to block the hole also got my filter fitted took me ages to cut the pipe those exhaust cutters are crap lol
Filter
Gauge fail
This is all trial and error guys I've never undertook summot like this before and part of me is regretting it a little bit but Im just gonna try and overcome all the obstacles best I can I feel like I could do with a couple more weeks to get it perfect but I guess I can tidy everything up later on so please go easy on me haha

Using stock management chipwizards are doing the mapping for me as they can map a stock ecu to read boost yea I can imagine the temps are gonna be warm haha I was considering cutting the bonnet and installing focus rs vents but dunno if that will look tacky??

Ahh glad you're doing it properly instead of a 5th injector and sigcon
I've thought about fitting vents but I think it will look tacky (personal preference and all that)
I've lifted the rear of the bonnet 20mm to let the hot air out faster
Removed fog lights
Removed inner lights from my morrettes
Will also be drilling 60mm holes where the number plate sits,
Hopefully be enough . You got a oil cooler fitted?

Not got a oil cooler yet! But it's on my to do list I've just ran out of time I will be installing one Deffo which ones are good as heard horror stories about mocal sandwhich plates splitting ?? Speaking of oil what grade should I use?? I think I might just fit the vents to be different function over form etc I can't hoon it atm anyway clutch is still new so gotta be gentle so whilst I'm doing that I will get a oil cooler sorted I can't believe how much I've spent already thought this would be a cheap conversion so so wrong lol

I couldn't tell you what cooler to go for , I've currently got the Mocal cooler with a thermostat plate , and braided lines . I've never had a problem with it and it's been on both my saxo turbos. I guess you can just put it down to pot luck at the end of the day .
Haha as if you thought it was going to be cheap ! I've spent a bloody fortune on mine , I dare not do the sums or I'd shit the bed and break down the car for parts haha

Haha I'd be over the moon if it only cost me that much .
Yeah either Mocal or setrab cooler would get my vote , there will be people who say otherwise but like said I've had no problems at all with my Mocal one

+1 to overspending on mine, i find myself hiding invoices from the missus just cant help myself when something comes up cheap or i see something someone has got which is shiny and pretty.
I think i i exceeded my budget on my first setup and have stopped counting since.

sandwich plate problems ?
I have seen that happen when people fit a remote filter and that has been because they over tighten the blanking cap of the dummy filter sandwhich plate --the cap is only alloy and has 4 holes init --so not much actual alloy left --so thats why they go --just cos it has a big nut --don,t mean you need to swing on the long spanner that fits it .LOL
remote filters are quite often fitted on turbo,s due to lack of space and you plumb the oil cooler from it as well ,also gives cool place to fit oil pressure sensor . If not moving oil pressure switch you will need to protect that from heat as well
you should fit an oil cooler really, due to extra heat it gets from turbo .
grade of of oil ?
10w/40 is fine
its all these and other problems that makes me like the s/c for a fwd car with limited under bonnet space -- a lot simpler and people forget about all these extra expenses when looking at turbo conversion cost

No idea what happened to the pics above ?? Anyway today I just did a bit of finishing up I got my oil catch can installed and put some oil in it also after talking to robster cut my bumper grille to allow more cooling to the intercooler and rad not neat but I've got another week off in July so will get the bumper done properly and rocker cover repainted
Next will be towing the car to a exhaust place to have the downpipe sorted then will be refitting the rad and starting her to check for leaks and bleed the water system well photobucket seems to have crashed lol so no pics for now
