You need a 20 ton press to get it out. The stub ends are pressed into the main tube.

I'd advise getting it done by someone who refurbs axles.

IMAxle will sell a "bare" rear axle and you can fit the bearings yourself.

Or search for Axles by Stef and speak to him.

Or oms.scot (oman mechanical solutions)

It's wsy easier and cheaper to get a 1.1 axle, there was a kit that costs around 300£ on eBay a while ago that involved some welding on the shaft and a threaded press to get it out.

I've got a good used vtr axle if you're still looking would sell for 150 was refurbished by IMaxle's about 2-3 years ago, can take it apart and check the shafts.

How much should be interference between cylinder (rear arm) and new shaft?
Is the shaft in repair kit larger then original one?
