Nothing too exciting, however I thought finish my CAIS off with some individuality. I didn't really fancy adding a AS sticker so I thought well, it's orange and from day one it's been known as the tango mobil' so bish bash bosh;

For those interested (although there doesn't seem to be many ha)

Little update,

Nothing too drastic going on at the minute, my car is penciled in to have the bumper sorted and a scratch on the rear bumper early next month. In the meanwhile last weekend I gave it a good detail which seems to have lasted pretty well, not that the car has seen much asphalt last week haha (probably has something to do with it).

On Saturday I decided it was time to get messy and I cut out the stock grill as much as I thought to keep the structural integrity but do away with that second grill look I had going on with the zunsport fitted directly over it. The result, I'm very happy with although it could do with some refinement but that's for another day!

(before iphone pic from the other day)

(after (slr)

Yesterday I decided to get another DS unit, mine has the basic maps best being DSCI.

My new unit has;

Performance +
Race +
DSCI
Mod B
Mod B+
Mod C

and

Mod X is basically an advanced 'stage 3' map for those who don't know, see the link for more info;

http://www.dreamscience-automotive.c...d=49&no_html=1

If this is as good as expected my next step will be to run RS 440cc injectors and get the mapped tweaked to 'Mod XRS'.

According to many accounts on the net... with Full exhaust, induction and cooler it can make up to 330 odd depending on car. So I'd like to think with my few extras like the inlet I could be around this figure maybe a little more with a big torque curve probably around 400 lbft but I'm not completely blinded by figures the car already drives sublime if it can be improved by a map happy days! Mike Brewer would love how the car gets down the road lol!!!

Quietly excited for ze weekend.

Thanks G, 2k is cheap but what sort of damage would that be?

In all honesty, my car says 19.5 at the moment however, I believe it's lower than that as I never reset it. Small drives = bad if mpg is an issue.

[insert cliche] It's all about smiles per gallon lol [cliche /off]

I would imagine my mpg to be around 18 ish on little journeys depending on how my foot feels lower. Combined I would say I could get between 25-30. I don't do eco drives though, I've only tried it once and over 650 odd miles it returned an average respectable 33 mpg. It was only running DSCI though at the time, no other mods so around 270 bhp ish now it's around 330 so could be less. That trip was done by litres vs miles not by the computer so it was accurate.

I'm not saying I slaughter it everywhere but I don't stick it in high gears and dribble my way about thinking about saving money. I waste my fuel as my car isn't my daily and when it goes out it get's driven for fun.

Two new doors and paint the side too it mate theres a few now for sale but they have 75k plus on them which is too much for me!

I want upto 65ishk miles then get DS block mod as it'll be near enough half engine rebuild as i will be planning big power etc

worth keeping for a long time as they will become the next sierra cossie in years too come as A. theyll get dirt cheap and idiots will buy them and wreck them. B, They are a ford legend with Motorsport heritage, and C all fast fords appreciate in value after a certain while if there looked after.

They will certainly appreciate at some stage and true on the heritage point. The PFL ST225 got Ford back in the hot hatch race. I'd like to think my EO will fetch some decent wonger one day should I decide to keep her.

Tbf the prices of a good PFL are still decent. Doodar ones can be had for circa 5-6k. Mine's just ticked over 53k is an ST3 in EO and 5d variants aren't soo easy to come by.

----------

On another note;

So, I loaded Mod X to my car yesterday evening,

First impressions are wow. I didn't know what to really expect as although it's meant to be a great map I couldn't see how they could improve on DSCI. I can honestly say I love it . The car is definitely quicker in fact I'd go as far as saying it feels far quicker. It works seamlessly with my modifications and doesn't appear to drop off the power it's relentless. I'm glad I waited a while before I changed to a higher power map as It has made me find some new love for my car.

I'm soo impressed that once I have block mod done I'll be going 440cc injectors and XRS.

Once that is done, I feel it's time to start properly sorting out the chassis. Eibach springs are ok but not enough. Plans are BC coilovers, whiteline arb, polybushes, diff and ksports. It certainly won't happen over night but I think it could be a quick point to point car with those mods and the power.

Nothing too exciting...

Tango vinyl warped under the extreme heat we've had recently.

Replaced it with this;1

Before settling for this;

Engine bay isn't at it's cleanest at the moment went away to the cotswolds and it pegged it down lol. The trip computer after a reset said I got 36.8 mpg, over 132 miles. Started with a full tank and only used a quarter of a tank. I was driving like an absolute fannnnnnny. Unfortunately the roads up there were too good to poodle any more and I didn't continue the test to see just how much I could get out of a full tank, but basing it on that repeated it's unbelievable. Mod X is quite good on fuel.

Where I parked it for the duration of the stay lol.

I treated it to a nice clean when we got back;

Tomorrow the car is booked in for;

Full front end re-respray consisting of;

Front bumper respray and lip gloss black
Both wings
& bonnet to remove (stone chips)

Rear bumper respray and re-jiggle the RS parts diffuser so it sits better

Apparently for it to match it needs to be done this way. It's nay cheap!

Also got some DMB caliper decals coming as I'm refreshing or at least plan to the brakes and I have some 'DRL' style fog lamps coming. Not the taky chavy kind.

Bar that, I've entered myself in for the Focusstoc show & shine award at Fordfair

She's in now as of Saturday morning, added a few other little bits to the list nothing too exciting but wheels will be powder coated black too. I love the clean look of silver but fancy a change.

Goodbye for a week or so lol

Getting there, I'll be collecting it tomorrow but no doubt I'll have some more pictures later today. I'm moving it straight to the powder coaters on Saturday, and will be collecting it on Tuesday with all works completed.

Going to be a right squeeze for fordfair I have much to do! Looking forward to it though.

Next weekend it's booked in for an RS clutch and flywheel upgrade as the clutch slip is ridiculous now. Also removing the dump valve and going for a straight cold side pipe which also deletes the symposer. After years of use the gaskets can go causing boost leaks. I don't think I have one however this will certainly eradicate the chance. The car even with the slip pulls like a train.

Next plans are block mod, RS 440cc injectors, Elevate 3" top rip pipe from the turbo to induction kit, Colins actuator and most likely ditching Dreamscience for Colins performance Cp340. They seem to be making the figures from 343-350 so far no less. I would go with DS XRS but I fancy a change and the hype of Colins has certainly got my attention.

a nice read... good to see the changes from start to now. Although there subtle (not in your face) they really make the car.

Cheers guys,

So last weekend it was finally time for the clutch conversion ... got up, jumped in the bean can and off to Autospecialists. I also got the cold side symposer dumper delete pipe and I had the inserts to my torque mount changed to the purple (harder) ones as yellow was too soft.

First impressions on the clutch are awesome. I wish I'd had it done far sooner. They make a huge difference. I can actually use the power. I miss the chav valve now for the bangs I could do with just a dab of the throttle but I'm over it. It still makes them just probably when it should. I guess it shows how out the air/fuel mixture is or something far too technical for my brain to comprehend lol.

It's no RS :| one day I'll own one, I've just gone too far now with my car and I've had it since new basically so.. I think I may change to a facelift diffuser as the diagonal lines are much better than the shite on my car currently, I can also get some tripple r fins to add to it and have it all done so that's on the cards.

This beast turned up! apparently something like 600+ bhp

Motor flyin'

In a carpark lol

And another

Wee vid of the exhaust

Focus ST Full Cobra Venom decat exhaust sound LOUD! - YouTube

& that's that, my list of plans keeps getting bigger but I think I'll have to stop before I end up with a full RS conversion as although I love my car I really still want an RS but I'm saving at the mo lol.

Cheers mate sorry I don't come on here much to check but as I was going through one of my old email accounts I noticed a notification from here and thought I'd check up! I still have my 180 although it's basically been sitting rotting for the past 2 years. I can't be asked to sell it for what they go for it's a drop in the ocean and as I'd spent quite a few pennies on it just before I got the ST back I would rather wait and take up the whole track day hobby thing with it in the future! Good to see you still have your 180 what have you done to it since?

As I'm here I may as well update this thread;

So like a month back I took my car in to Autospecialists for block mod and TurboSmart actuator.

Car seems quicker pulls harder for longer and quicker at this stage which was great.

I then replaced my Zunsport grill badge with a metal Dreamscience one and added one to the AS ecu cover. I also took it to Halfords to have some GY Eagle F1 Assy 3's fitted. Full set obviously. Now before anyone says it I chose Halfords for a reason I expected my alloys to be damaged in the process of fitting because I just don't trust anyone with my car lol. Sure enough they did it but was made aware they were mint before and thus had to get them all refurbed at a place of my choice (the place I had them done previously). (see later in the thread for the pics of the change).

After this I thought I'd purchase a 3" Elevate top induction pipe to replace the 2.76 mm stock part. I normally only purchase new items but saw an auction on fleebay which also included a Group A induction kit... As the pipe is £200 odd new I thought if I got it for around 240-250 I could sell the group A to offset and get the pipe cheaper...

The pipe was wrapped in some shite gold heat wrap see pics what a fooking nightmare that was!

After this I used metal polish and some compound to remove any scratches / unsightliness.. Using the metal polish on the painted part (silver) darkened the*finish almost similar in different lights to the shadow chrome finish I have to my wheels.I was going to have it powder coated but I'm actually pleased with the look.

After a failed attempt to fit the pipe myself I took it to Autospecialists to do the job. It was extremely tight and tbh I was just leaning over the engine bay without removing the scuttle etc and couldn't see what I was doing lol!!

& at home some quick pics.

I may add some stickers to it unsure yet.

& one final picture so you can see the wheels/ bay.

All together I'm rather happy with it's performance now. As always there is a list of mods I'd like which are... Elevate boost solenoid, 440cc injectors and XRS map.

Below is the current performance mods engine wise.

Engine performance ;

Dreamscience Mod X
Denso irridium plugs
Pumaspeed tappered inlet
Elevate 3" top induction pipe to turbo
AS Block mod + belts
AS gen 3 CAIS
AS pro series ECU relocation case
AS cold side pipe (No symposer take off)
Airtec stage 2 Cooler with RS style scoops
Turbosmart recirc
TurboSmart actuator
Full 3" Cobrasport non res exhaust:
-3" Cobrasport downpipe
-3" Cobrasport decat
-3" Cobrasport Venom catback

If you read all that and made any sense of it, you did well so pat yourself on the back lol.

Just read this thread from start to finish. I dread to think how much cash you've thrown at that motor, lol.

Looking well though and I bet it shifts some!

However, the most pressing question I have is...

Why does your house have two front doors?!
