carpet thing under bonnet VTS
I have a mk2 VTS and it has a carpet thing on the underside of the bonnet
Does anyone know what this is for and does it matter if i take it off?

Ripped mine off yesterday... was soaking wet and full of wildlife. Shame Citroen couldn't be arsed to paint the bonnet underneath it.

does it not also absorb the engine bay heat so stop the paintwork getting really hot

Aye it does. Primary job is sound deadening though, engines a lot louder with it out

it probably would be fine mate, but my mate took his off (for the weight loss) and the bonnet was really hot after a run so it got put back on lol

I took mine off and noticed my engine was loads louder, and because it was tappy it wasn't a good thing lol.
