I've had two saxo furio's both over 100k miles, paid £750 for first one, £850 for second one.

Ive had 6 1.1's and all their engines failed as the clock turned 100k.

I see why you being carefull.

Not really, its a risk that everyone takes when they buy a car, seriosly though its not worth a penny over £1200

I do love my car and if the engine is in good stead then material objects like the above are nothing in comparison.

Good lad for it though, as much as the vibrating on the boot lid drives me nuts i LOVE it!

tbh, milage doesnt mean that much. it matters how the owner treated the car. if it has had no damage to it and at 110k miles to a car on say 40k miles which someone has treated badly, then the chances are it wont last much longer. i would look more into the car and check for any faults. i bought my car and is now not far off the 150k miles mark (it was at 139k when i bought it) and didnt pay too much for it as it needed a bit of repair and a new axel in it. i recon try haggle a bit and see if you can get it for £1200ish but if it is in good nic, then its worth the money.

I used to have a 1.1 ax which started to burn oil and water at 80,000 miles, however my saxo 1.6 is coming up to 160k and it runs as sweet as when i bought it having 70,000 on the clock. Ive never had to change any gaskets and its still on its original gearbox. As everyone else has said it just depends how its been treated

£150 is extreemely cheap for a vtr! matters what condition its in though as it may cost more too repair than what the car is worth......

£150 for a VTR mk2 if this is true like i strongly doubt then that guy got ripped off.
Although my friend recently bought a Buggati Veyron for 1p. Honestly...

as long as it is looked after you won't have a problem my old 106 gti had 150k on when I had it sold it on 152k to AlexB who put a few more miles on and still made a good 137bhp even at that mileage.

my 1.1 has done 120k. All the work that needs doing is merely preventive, and a lower mileage box as the one on it sounds like a bag of spanners!

Pretty sure it says in the handbook:

"If the mileage gets to 99,999, you should find a suitable place to stop and exit the vehicle as implosion is iminent."

French cars are shit anyway so it will have fallen apart ages before then. Probabaly by the time you've finished reading this sarcastic post infact
