Windows XP
Anybody still running it?
Just installed it on my Laptop (i3, Reasonably Newish) and it makes me wonder why I ever bothered with 7, runs like a dream.

Do you use normal XP or the Embedded Version for your POS's, the Embedded one's even more bulletproof than the normal version!
Windows 7 just seems like bloatware, even with most of the Windows Features turned off that slow it right down.

I just installed Windows 7 64bit today upgrading from Vista
I have an Acer laptop, and got this HP Windows 7 CD on eBay for £5...it's confusing because it's actually a genuine Windows 7 "HP reinstallation disc", not a copied one
The guy said it would work on any make of machine, i stuck it in and it installed no bother...fucking bargain

Aye it'll install, only difference is if you have a HP laptop, then it automatically activates, otherwise you'll need to Crack it.

I upgraded to 7 the on launch night and have never looked back. Much more user friendly than XP and doesn't have any stability issues that I have encountered.
And seeing as XP is now being phased out with new software no longer supporting it and websites beginning to stop supporting dated web browsers I cant see XP lasting much longer except in POS systems as mentioned above, near enough all POS and ATM's run XP and are not effected by the lack of support with new software.
However looking at what Microsoft have revealed about Windows 8 it looks like they have completly ballsed it up by making a tiled system like WP7 primary over the standard desktop and made it all for touch screens on desktops which are completly stupid and the most stupid idea any computer manufacturer has ever come up with.
