Seems a good idea, they could still pm the seller but be unable to make their own threads to scam which is where the problem lies.

E46 zone have this.
you can look, but cant post untill youve had 50 posts on the forum, and you HAVE to be a subscriber to start a for sale/wanted thread.
would be a good improvement on here in my opinion.

If they can view threads they can still pm members offering goods from seeing wanted threads etc.. Therefore it's easy to scam again.
So Nein.

How about restricting the wanted forum then?
Can't see newbs buying being a problem personally

I vote to remove the warning stickers and let the problem solve itself.
Hopefully someone will get scammed and then learn a very valuable lesson.

oh here comes a newb - yeah mate ill sell you this.
then wont post it.
you could have saxperience whore or newbie as your title and still scam someone. but i see the logic, we would hope that sellers on here would genuinely sell the item - and not bother who they send it too so long as they get their golden nuggets!
one of the racing forums im on - is full of bsb riders / teams who sell parts and you need requirements to be able to post in the threads, but they are viewable and i just buy via PM as i dont use their chat sections just the for sale.

What about letting them view the for sale section but not letting them have the ability to PM until they have 100 posts?
