is 100,000 miles okay on a saxo..
Thinking of getitng rid of my 1.1 and getting a 1.6 vtr X reg.
it has 1 previous owner from new and has done 110,000 miles, all clean and nice with service history @ £1500,
is this a decent buy or will the car break alot? i will only be doing 5-6k miles per year if that.
(:

Been asked a million times mate. If it's been well looked after there shouldn't be an issue.
Mine is on 99,921 as it stands tonight. I don't think it will die in 79 miles

£1500 seems way overpriced for a 100k car FSH or not. Offer them £1200 if not accepted find a better car!
My opinion of corse

that is very overpriced. there is a few 2002+ saxos on autotrader in the midlands with about 60,000 miles on for a few hundred pounds more.
if its got that many miles i wouldnt touch it unless it had full serivce history. and i wouldnt pay over £1000 to be hounest. you might like the car but you can get sooo much more for your money.

As Saxo180 says..
A car at 40k could devleop problems a 130k car hasnt had in its lifetimes and wont be having anytime soon..all engines are different.

Ive just bought a VTR 2001 of a mate, That has 110K on the clock (just under) and still runs sweet as a nut. Only the suspention bits like wishbones, bearings and joints etc are pretty worn as its not had an easy life or been maintained on that side of things.
But if its been looked after I dont see why anythings the matter with it!
If it helps, I bought it of him for 1300 puerly because its got some really good parts on, Piper system, Viper induction, Angels, smart alloys the lot. Wanted 1500 for it, which it would definatly be worth if it wasnt for the high milage.
Also I was origionally going to offer around 1100 but after viewing the car, and driving it I realised theres nothing much to worry about as it all ran like a car half its age
So just nock a bit you feel reasonable with off the asking price and jobs a goodun mate

Tringaling is right, If you love it you will pay that bit more to get it. Mine needed a bit of work doing to it like the front arches needed replacing, wheel bearing, little things that add up. But I adored the car itself and the way it drove so was happy to pay that bit more than maybe I should have!
