Default Trip to the scrapyard...

So, I went the scrapyard today for a browse of what I can get my 1.1, and saw an almost identical Saxo, with a nice backbox leaning against it. I checked the back of Saxo, and yes, the backbox had been removed. I the backbox on.. perfect fiT! It was a Peco Big Bore 2. I asked how much it was, they said £10, so I thought why not!

It's very black, so was just wondering if anyone could if there's anything that could be wrong with it? Also, any cleaning recommendations? Is it ok to run water down it? What sort of sount should I expect from it? I don't want to be chavvy lol.

If it's not going to be my thing I'll just get my money back on ebay!

Oh, was wondering if it's possible to paint it too (the main part, not the tailpipe). What sort of paint/protection would I need to withstand the heat?

Thanks in advance!

Have you got any pictures of it?

I'd use some Autosol, it's great for polishing exhausts etc. From hearing mates Peco exhausts before, I don't think they are really loud to be honest.

Sounds perfect!

The dirt comes out when I rub my fingers on it, even round the tip, so looks like it'll clean up nicely! It's not scuffed on the tip, only on the box itself.

On the tip itself, just use some Autosol as it's really good for getting it shiney again.

As for the box itself, well...I'm not sure what you could use to get it looking good again. I take it's stainless steel and not mild steel? I'm just surprised how black it is.

EDIT - By the way, I reckon it's going to be quite loud because the silencer is quite small.

Looking online, I think it's stainless steel but not too sure!

Just seems a little too black to be stainless steel, but I could be wrong.

I'm presuming it would be a straight fit without cutting any pipes etc, so I would give it a try to see but I reckon it's going to loud.

Straight fit yeh. No hangers no, was going to get some welded on and have this fitted when I get it lowered by my mate. But I'm thinkin it's gonna be stupidly loud, so I'll clean it up and sell it to a chav lol

To be honest mate, probably won't be worth getting hangers etc on it.

Get it cleaned it and whack it on the bay. I reckon you'll get £20 if not more for it.

You can clean the inside with soapy water just dont get loads in the actual box. Autosol will clean the pipe up nicely. Shouldnt be too loud as its only a back box.
