How old were you when you started uni?
For everyone that has been to uni or is at uni, how old were you when you started? For those of you that had a gap year what did you do in it? Was it worth while and did it affect you getting into uni?
Has anyone had to resit exams after 6th form to get into uni and how did it go? That's currently the situation I'm in now and it's shit.

Went to uni at 18. Hated the course I was doing (And didn't like Preston). Left and did a year working. Currently at Chester doing Natural Hazard Management with Geography and loving it. Started at 19.

I'll be twenty when I go to uni, am having a 2 year gap year and tbh its great, plus I sailed through the UCAS application process and got 3 unconditional offers. I think the work experience shows life skills as well as qualifications and the quals I did through work show a commitment to development! Plus I got money and a good reference on my CV so personally I'd go for the gap year.
Also once you leave Uni people would rather hire grads with work experience over fresh from education with no work experience/soft skills if you get me?

Yeah, you're actually showing signs of jealousy, y'know by trying to justify not going. I find it laughable how you think University makes you less successful in life as well.
And judging by your grammar, and spelling. I don't think you could make it into College, let alone University.

You sound like a very bitter individual! Such a philistine lol
Uni wasn't just about the degree for me. I had 3 of the best years of my life. Made friends for life, connections for life, met my girl there and it also developed me as a person.
