The problem with a rear cage and buckets and harnesses is that if you do indeed roll over the front of the car by the windscreen will likely cave in and as you are fixed in place by your buckets and harnesses you can;t move so will get squished and probably paralysed.
Please feel free to correct me if im wrong. Is just what i hear on a lot of other sites

yes and no, tbh all the cars ive seen roll on track have never really done "that" much damage, i know its a saxo and theyre made of cotton wool, but to plant the front in enough to do that then youd have to have been in some crash
not saying it couldnt or wouldnt happend, but a cage is not NEEDED on track, its not like im in a stage rally with possibilty of hitting a tree or cliff face etc.
good weld in half cage with custom side bars to strut turrets should do me fine for what i need
if i die then you can agree i made the wrong choice

All that fuel slopping around that shallow tank isn't beneficial to handling either...
Honestly, if i was a scrutineer i wouldn't allow you on track with that set up, please refit the o/e tank for your own and any passengers safety.
Seriously, think what could happen is you got Liberace'd (rear ended) on a track day... it doesn't bear thinking about!

Why put something thats so heavy in the rear of the car unless you need space for turbo?

i needed space, mines a temp measure till i decide where it need to go fully, then its getting a custom box made, im thinking behind passenger seat is best place atm
i wasnt planning on removing mine but was forced to when fitting i/c pipes

Battery is now behind passenger seat, fuel tank is safe where it is, if it gets nudged the way its set up it will move forward.
Plans in Jan are to move it lower down. So many other people with aftermarket fuel tanks in the boot.

Whats that going to do exactly? Bugger all thats what!
You wat weight distribution buy an MR2 or something. 10kg in the back will do bugger all except maybe give you slightly less traction on the front.
Sure someone will pop up and disagree but unless you have the car setup and corner weighted will make f all difference

Is the battery now in a box or does it at least have the terminals covered?
As you say, many other have tanks in the boot (inside the passenger compartment) but that doesn't make it ok, correct or safe... its dangerous and potentially lethal to the occupants of the car... have a good think about why you think you need to have the tank inside the car with you... you could at least fit a bulkhead around it to seperate the tank from the passenger compartment?
the words door, shut, horse and bolted spring to mind... It'll probably take someone getting burnt to death before things change, dont let it be you or any of your friends...

A few kg's can make a world of difference.
Just having a car 'stripped' is probably worse than leaving the rear seats etc in.
All that weight just on the front obviously just makes it oversteer.. Evening it out, even a small bit will help.
Even weight distribution is where its at.. Look at Mx5's.. handle like they're on rails, because they're ni' on 50/50.

Oh i know i just think that with an amateur trackday setup its a bit overkill and a lot of hassle for what its worth. I had a completely stripped rear etc and that oversteered but no where near as my current standard 1.4 106 does!
