Big Update

Well, had a stage 1 last month, and today, the tubo blew. Took it to an Audi Specialist Garage, and he said his 1999 A6 has been remapped for years, on a far greater map, and his is on 140k, so he said the map had nothing to do with it, might have shortened the life a little, but it was going anyways.

So will hopefully know the damage tomorrow, looking at around £800 I would imagine, hopefully no more, but you never know.

On Another Note

First of all, I got some gay spray and did this.

Proberly most of you won't like it, but its only the beginning, it's Ford Puma Metalic Purple, roughly the colour the interior will be going in later months. Looking to tidy up the engine bay, spray some bits black, and more of the purple, when it finshed it will all come together.

The grill

Sold the black optics grill, and done this.

Blanking Panel

Went to Audi, and bought this, its an American Part number, its a US spec blanking plate, so my number plates in the window, keep your illegal comments to yourselfs

Lastly, winter rims have been bought, their Genuine BBS Porsche Cayenne Turbo alloys, 18x8j all round, PCD 5x130, so spacers and ajusters are needed.

Its actually the 8th set I have bought in the last 6 months, the other 4 were sold basically as soon as I bought them

Cheers Craig!

More carbon updates to come! As I have a little bit to use up.

Just waiting for a low-loader to pick me and the car up, and will be off to the garage shortly, first off though, it doesn't look/sound good.

Wow, this is one sexy car.

Removing that numberplate makes one hell of a difference, cars look much better without them. Bad news on turbo though.

Cheers bro, should be able to see it on the 18th September meet

Yeah, it looks much cleaner.

Its not 100% the turbo yet, still maybe just a pipe, but I'm just looking for the worst tbh.

Been on the phone to Audi, and they said if I take it to a dealer, they will diagnose the car, and more than likely given its mileage and service history, give me good will, and pay upto 60% of the bill, only thing is, they charge £85 an hour labour, so need to work out the pro's and cons, if its cheaper in the long run and take it to a specialist, which is where it is now, rather than a dealer.

Last year I went and traded my A3 (2.0TDI 140) in for my A4, the specialist I bought them from have always done my servicing too, so we are pretty friendly. Anyway I went in about a month after and they told me that they had sold it. After asking who to, he carried on to tell me that after about 4 miles the turbo blew on the new owner. Luckily for the new owner they had 3 months warranty but the guys told me it was about £1000 including labour if they would of had to pay.

Maybe worth taking it into Audi if they will give you that sort of discount, think a turbo change is around 3-4 hours labour according to Audi.
