I took my camera into work today to try to capture the bridge sunset shot I mentioned... I didnt wait around long enough to get the deep red/orange sky I was after, but the shot did come out pretty well

Here are a few photos... All were taken in a bit of a rush. Some VERY high up and some at ground level

I was experimenting with the polorising filter too... No idea how you're supposed to use it, but I have a couple of shots showing just how much differenc eit can make to the sky/clouds! (Thanks Mike )

The signal box pic is nice... I plan to take some shots around the crossing area in the daylight.

This was taken as a very rushed job, as the signal man was sat inthere reading his paper... I didnt want him to see me poking a lens at him

Nice pics Simo. Amazing how the transporter bridge looks different in different light( especially IMG_0396).

The railway crossing is spot on.

I like the lighting on both of the night shots.

Thanks for the positive comments peeps... still have LOTS to learn, but your feedback is encouraging

I bought a fairly basic setup to start with... the EOS350D sith single lens and the battery grip came to about £740 I think.

Superb shots Simo. As for the polarizing filter - standard filter for wet-film boffins is pretty easy to use. The filter should be made up of two pieces of glass and once fitted to the lens you should be able to turn the outer ring (much like focusing) - look thru the viewfinder and twist the filter - the image should change with the blue sky becoming much more saturated in colour - you can also manipulate reflections by doing the same thing. Hope that helps.

Ari
