Default Treating Rust

I’ve got a few patches of rust in non-safety / non-structural areas (around the aerial etc.) and was wondering what people have used to treat and removed rust. Usually I’d just go at it with a wire brush and some sandpaper but I’ve come across Hammerite rust removal treatment for motoring paints and body repairs. Has anyone used this, or could anyone recommend something similar?

There was a thread on a 309GTi resto'. He recommends many items on there and the photos demo their effectiveness.

Personally i've used jenolite for a few years in gel and liquid form.

Jenolite wouldn't touch the rust on my rallye, I ended up going with Bilt Hamber Hydrate 80 and then used their cavity wax, haven't seen it come back and that was treated two years ago.

Bilt Hamber deox gel is good for small areas of surface rust, it will totally remove it, it might leave it a bit pitted but it will be clean metal. then you can primer and paint.

From experience i wouldnt bother with hammerite stuff its crap.
