Default How do i shoot moving cars.. with 75-300mm

Ok this weekend im off to RWYB at santa pod which i thought since im too 'pussy' to run my car infront of a crowd would be the best time to take advantage of my x mas prezzy my Eos 400d.

I have the standard 18-55 lens kit and

EF 75-300mm f/4 5.6 III USM lens obviously will be using the 75-300,

question is whats the best settings to run the camera in to get half decent shots?

Any help will be rewarded with golden rep lol

Thanks ,

JamieM.

If you want really nice panning shots, with the back ground uber blurred and the car nice and crisp then drop the shutter speed down to 1/160, maybe less when you get the hang of it..

Just makesure you follow the car even after you have taken the shot otherwise it will come out shit..lol

I just play around with the shutter speeds, have the rest set on Auto..

A drag strip sounds like a good place to practice panning tbh..

If you have Exif reader you will be able to see my settings on these pics..

Here's some of my panning results..
