Removing cambelt cover
Trying to remove the cambelt cover from my vts but the bolts are just spinning the whole thread. There's no head or anything on the rear of the cover to grip to stop the thread spinning.
Am I just being stupid and missing a simple trick?

If you have them, put a stud extractor in the back of it to stop it spinning.

I just gripped them metal disc captive nuts that they screws go into with pliers and it worked. Pain in the arse though when they spin

I cant seem to grip the disc with anything. Tried pliers and mull grips but just kept slipping off. So frustrating, i thought taking the engine, box and loom out would be hard but was a piece of piss and now i cant get a bloody plastic cover off! Haha

Typical Citroen crap designing metal inserts for plastic items where the bolts seize in so easily. I ended up cutting one in half, and for the others I managed to use a stud extractor on a drill going backwards - gripped the hex socket and spun the whole lot til the heat from friction loosened the bolt. Same issue with the vts airbox I got yesterday.

Think i will have to do something similar. Did you use the screw type stud extractor on the rear of the insert?
