Default Saxo Restoration- Welding

Hi All,
I'm upset. I think my lovely '99 Mk1 Saxo vtr might be finally at the end of the road.
Took it in to National Tyres and they pointed out the extent of the rust/rot underneath to the floor pan footwell areas, the sills/side rails and one or two other areas.
I don't know what to do now as he car has been in the family since new so it's really been looked after and completely original and runs beautifully.
To think of scrapping it is too emotional. I'm thinking maybe it might be best having a partial restoration ?
Can anyone point me in the direction of someone or some place that could do this or sort out the rust.
I live in Manchester. Thanks

Get it to rickyp. He will know what to do + if it's worth it.

Hi, I can tell you that it is almost definitely not worth it financially, but it depends if its worth it to you sentimentally, anything can be repaired, it just depends how deep your pockets are. It is rare to hear of rust being better than expected, but it may help to put some pictures up so we can see how bad or good it is. Some of the rust may not be in prescribed areas, and would you put it past a 'national' (or any garage worker for that matter) not to have a small car they want to sell you, or try to offer you a low blow offer for an otherwise decent motor

VTRs, or even saxos in general, are pretty thin on the ground. I say try to save her!
