vtr engine transplant?
ive got a 1.1 desire at the moment but i'm considering dropping a vtr engine from either a local scrap dealer or from someone on here/pistonheads etc.. i would love to have a vtr but i currently dont have the funds to buy one even if i sell my car. ive looked about and seen engines for about £200 and can do the work at either college or at my work (garage).
but before i go out and buy one, what else would need changing? ive been told i would have to replace my rear drums with discs and possibly the gearbox, however ive also been told i dont on this one.
what do you all think?

You can use the same gearbox, you dont have to change the rear beam but it would be adviseable.
You will also need a ECU and wiring loom. Its best to get an engine from around the same year as yours as it makes the wiring easier.
Theres so many threads on this now, just have a search.

well you can have the ecu and loom. it would probably be an idea to uprate the disks and pads, but theyre all as shit as each other on saxo's anyway. tbh its entirely up to you what you want to upgrade
