To be honest though Finch, I used the Tarox Strada pads:
http://www.motorsportworld.co.uk/det...112&PID=769614
Which are only £56.93, that's nearly half the price, and they broke so hard it was immense. I would get these if I were you...

1 is enough for me.
Just thought i'd let you know as I asked that silly question about rpm @ 70mph.
Rallye box makes these little things really lively.
Big fan of this box.

yeah possibly. Time will tell when you fit them to finchy's. I would have thought that it would be obviuse wether or not it isn't as effective by working it by hand. I think it could be one of those things which willnever be solved. Let me no what happens when you fit them to finchy's

Well we have put them on. Took a bit of time as me had some issues with the hoses loosing them, with the help of Marlow ford they lent us the correct tool and manage to sort them. Toad got me some standard pads which will be good to see what effect they will have from the calipers. Got a bit of travel in the pedal as didnt get the MC cylinder on today, but was a long afternoon. Toad will sure explain something he discovered with the calipers Btw thanks Toad and i forgot to give you the money!!

Crikey, what a day, eh!?
Famous last words: "Yeah mate, if all goes well, it should take us about half an hour to do the brakes." - LMAO!
I think I found out why only one pad was worn, and it's pretty much what I thought earlier... One of the sliders on one of the carriers was very stuck. I took it out, and bits of rust popped out! I greased it all up, as well as the others, and they all slid fine after that.
I still think there's too much travel mate. I never had that much travel with them, so unless there's a difference between the mk2 VTS and the mk2 106 GTi, something ain't right. I recommend that you a) Get the car to a garage to check the caliper attachment sorted and b) Get the new MC installed, brakes fully bled, and see where you get to.
You can pay me the money when you next come over to help me with the dash.

Lol haha yer i remember you saying that!
Ye same here, when i got home last night i floored it down my road to 60 and slammed on brakes outside mine and stopped very quickly, but travel was still a bit long. I will see if i can get it to a garage in the morning, will have to put brands off to the afternoon its looking like.
Ok klkl will prob be around the 1st sunday of april if your free? Thats when im back from scotland

Glad the problem was a very simple fix. Its always the way i suppose. At least it has worked out for the best. you both get nice new breaks.
You too need to arrange a photoshoot soon.

Indeed this car is top notch! Nice to chat to you finally.
Get yourself along to a half or full day in the near future and get some time on with the car!
