A Zetec S has a better driving position, more direct steering, better spaced pedels, better gearchange, engine responds better to tuning (bluefin etc), slightly sharper chassis out the box... but thats not important at all

197bhp is pretty damn impressive from an n/a 1.6. Is that the highest production power output? Pics of car and engine?

O realy..
I forgot a f1 car has 740bhp a v8 engine 20,000 rpm and did i mention for all that speed and performance only 274 nm of torque.
A 2 litre diesel Audi A3 has over 350 nm of torque.

kind of an extreme example there, no?
but I agree with Jungle. Torque is where it's at.

If you want a derv..
Maybe but it just goes to show you don't need torque to 'win races'.
Albeit f1 cars have a stupid amount of £££.
Torque is nothing without HP.
At the end of the day you always shift at peak power HP you do not shift at peak torque, i know there's lots of maths involved including transmission losses etc etc but i'm aware that this is mostly the case.
