Lol my release bearing wasn't that much in better shape, they seem to be poor quality design or poor fitment from Citroen,as your clutch is new it's completely silent now right? Prepare for it to be noisy again soon lol seems to be pretty common

So FCS 2016 has been and gone, before the show i drained the oil, removed the old oil filter and removed the mk2 oil pressure sensor, i replace the sensor,
with one from a mk1 which was smaller, which ment i was no longer melting a sesnor on the mani, with a new oil filter on i filled her up with some castrol 5w-40 not tried 5w-40 before so will see how it goes.

Heres a few clips of my friends i got on track at FCS

https://youtu.be/35sp7uxG1II - 106 GTI, 306 GTI 6, 106 GTI cammed

I cant get the images to display so will have to tag links.
Half way to FCS

I treated the old girl to a new steering wheel and boss, as the standard one, had seen better days, this will do nicely

if anyone can get the images to work then that would be great

in September I'll have a lot more money spare, so thinking of things i would like to get done with the old girl any idea?

so far I've got these things
new discs and pads all round i like the idea of grooves ones (not drilled as have read they tend to crack)
polybush my lower arms (for a better feel behind the wheel)
upper and lower strut brace (for the same reason)

and at the other end of the scale
i feel like headgasket, have the head ported and polished,
stick a aftermarket cam in there at the same time (would need ideas of a cam i dont want anything that would require changing more parts), and get it mapped on a dyno.
some will say to just stick a vts in there instant more power, but im happy with my vtr as it is now at 106bhp, so im not after big gains but to clear out any flat spots and just make it a much better running vtr and keep it well maintained.

im also interested in getting my rear spoiler resprayed as its got lacquer peeling off, and have the car machine polished.

anyway let me know what you think

Where were you parked at FCS? Was there myself but didn't see too many saxo's.

I'd suggest getting the satchell lower brace over the OMP one. Got a OMP one on myself i'm only lowered 35mm and i scrape at times, Makes a horrible noise when it scrapes so I'm going to swap it out soon.

Thinking about upgrading the came myself but I've decided to wait and go all out with a turbo build. Hoping to get it done for FCS next year

Brakes are doing great, and gaz gold coilovers are mint great buy.
Now over the space of about two weeks, my second gear went from being very stiff to get into to impossible it would just push into fourth gear if i tried, it turned out to be the bracket that is bolted to the gearbox that holds the linkage had come very very loose which explains how it got harder to get into as it become more loose, done it back up and fitted a nylon nuts on the end.
While i was there replaced the standard linkages with baker bm and its an amazing improvement, also fitted a new gear selector while i was back there.

Nice progress, looking forward to the Gaz gold for mine as well, how did you find the adjustment on them for bump/rebound? Easy to work with or difficult to find the setting you wanted to? What springs are you using? Any helper needed? Are you running standard at the rear axle? (couldn't find any info on previous pages) If so did you notice any improvement with the Gaz Gold on their own?
Sorry for all the questions, looking forward to some pics of them fitted.

Hi Veiron the adjustment was easy i fitted them and set it to midway and i haven't had to touch it as of yet, I'll mess around with them some more at some point see how it rides with them set to max stiffness, i kept standard top mounts with them to provide a better comfort ride if you go with solid mounts you would need to put plates on your struts in case it domes and from reading reviews it isn't a good idea for a daily drive.
no helper needed and I'll get back to you on what rating the springs are the rear axle is polybushed lowered 30mm and running koni s.t.r (orange) shocks I'll be replacing them with gaz golds to match the front.
also fitted an E-Tech upper strut brace last weekend I'll have to get some pictures of the car uploaded and the coilovers.
When i fitted them the tracking was way off i mean any corner or roundabout sounded like i was drifting round it with tire squeal, once i got it aligned it felt so much better im so impressed with them.

Been awhile since i have posted so heres a update to the old girl,
shes had new drop links fitted and new polybushed lower arms, i brought two new lower arms and powerflex front and rear bush rather than use the old arms, it now has 20mm spacers on the front very nice they bolt to the hub and the wheel bolts to them no need for longer bolts.
Coilovers still awesome and still set to mid as it seems great for my daily drive around, its just passed its MOT 3 advisorys a tyre, both rear discs so nothing major that needs to be done.
where i plan to go next with this.
Saxsport with sports cat (personal cant be bothered to swap the decat anymore)
Rainsport 3 tyres on the front 195 45 this time so they dont rub
Brembo oem discs and mintek m1144 to match the fronts
20mm spacers for the rear
new polybushed lower arms

clean saxo

Clear fogs, no stickers and that would look great.

Update she started giving me some problems with cutting out while driving or not even starting, managed to pin it on the fuel pump, so its had a new fuel pump, crank sensor and tps in the last week. I've swapped my standard mirrors for DTM mirrors, as im fed up of having them hit on my road. Also fitted a DTM front splitter.

Removing the old pump

snowfoam bath

All clean

I really don't get why people would put "because [insert car brand here]" stickers on the windscreen. Car would look better without all the cheap halford style touches.
