Immobiliser Assistance Needed
Good Evening everyone,
First post so please be gentle with me! I'm hoping someone out there can help.
We have had a family member recently pass away and have inherited a Citroen Saxo that had been garage stored for a number of years. We have fitted a new battery and found that the car has a keypad immobiliser.... the problem is no one knows the code and despite our attempts with guesses we've been unable to disable it.
I've spoken with our local main dealer and been told that there is no way to recover the code or reset the immobiliser/ECU.
Is there anyone out there that can advise (privately if need be) - how to either recover, reset or bypass the immobiliser so we can put the car back on the road and move it?
Appreciate any help or advice that can be given, thanks!

Hello
If you've entered the code wrong 3 times, the keypad will remain locked. turn off the ignition. turn it on again for 1 minute. Then turn it off and leave the car for at least 30 mins.
The factory default code is 1111. Pray it has never been changed lol
If that doesn't work, then you need an unlocked ECU for the car.
When you turn on the ignition, ONLY the red light should be on. If both red and green lights are on, there is a fault.
The green light only means the system isn't active and the car can be started.

What model is it? Some of them can have the immobiliser removed from the ECU.
Also, have a very good look at the buttons on the keypad. It's often obvious which buttons have been pressed repeatedly because they wear thinner on the black rubber.
The code is four digits so you have a limited number of options. See if the numbers are part of a date of birth for example, something a person wouldn't forget.

Thanks for the responses!
We've tried numerous numbers that we think may have been used but unfortunately not been able to disable the immo.
The car has been garaged for years now, and has extremely low mileage so hasn't been used through it's life, hence the wish to put it on the road and not scrap it, but as it hasn't been used the keypad isn't really showing any signs other than potentially the number 3 of being pressed.
I had a guy I know with some OBD kit try to plug computer onto it but this didn't seem to want to talk to the car either (it's a 30pin plug so pre-standard OBD connections) and when we got the right plug the various bits of software he tried wouldn't work.
I have a single red light on the keypad, after three attempts this starts to flash and I get a continuous Beep which we have to reset by disconnecting and reconnecting the battery or keypad connection.
Really stuck now! If anyone has any other ideas (or even a suitable ECU) please let me know.

Wayne (Chipwizards) I'm sure can remove the immobiliser from that ECU.
That will do away with the need for a keypad. I'm sure he'll be back!

Chuck the ECU in the post and I'll sort it for you.
You'll need to unplug the keypad before you plug the ECU back in.
If you REALLY want it (the keypad) working you'll have to unplug the keypad, fit the ecu, turn the ignition on, plug in the keypad then reset the PIN code. DON'T turn the ignition off with the keypad connected unless you have already reset the PIN code, or you'll be back to square 1 again.

That would be fantastic Chipwizard! I'm happy to drop it by (your only an hour away from where I live by the looks) and bung you a few quid or a crate or two of beer!
Would be happy not to have the keypad functioning and just disable the ECU if it's easier as they seem really annoyingly fiddly!

No worries.
I'm actually working tomorrow (Sunday) if you want to come then?
There's no sign on my building but I'm next door to 'Quantum Air Technologies'.

Sorry Chipwizards - just seen your post!
The cars still stood, I'll take it off the car tomorrow and pop it in the post to you.
Does/is the keypad needed too? does that store a code or is it the ECU only that stores it?

I might be able to read the code out of the keypad if you want to send the both of them?

Hey Chipwizards,
I sent the ECU out to you, so hopefully you've got it (with a covering letter).
Let me know what you think! Thanks

Hi Chipwizards!
Hopefully ECU has made it to you, I sent it a couple of weeks back, let me know what you think!
My parents are asking when they can have their driveway back.
Thanks

I've done it today, bench tested it and all seems good.
I should get it posted out tomorrow afternoon once the mapping job I've got in is done.
You'll need to unplug the keypad to stop it re-immobilising itself.
:-)

Received with thanks Chipwizard! Will get it put on over the weekend and give her a whirl.
Have you removed the pin code completely or just reset it to factory?
Will get a token of thanks in the post to you! You're a star.

Just chuck that keypad in the bin, I think that would be best

At the very least unplug the keypad if you don't know what the code is.
Otherwise you'll be back to square 1.
