Default Fm reception

I've bought a Philips stereo which is great but the fm reception is dodgy and goes from perfect to poor and back again quickly.

The random thing is that am reception seems unaffected.

It picks up stations but then the quality is very changeable...

Any help would be great

AM doesn't go through your roof aerial in some cases

so my best guess is the connector on your roof behind your interior light is corroded to hell

Or the cnonector at the back of your radio isn't a tight fit.
