Default OBD cable

First of all, sorry if I missed forum I don't know where to post it.I have OBD2 cable for autocom diagnostic and when I plug it nothing happens.I think my cable doesn't fit.

Is this cable I should use it to bridge autocom cable and Saxo OBD port?

It will fit, it's just tight.

However, only 3 plug ECU models have OBD2, earlier versions of ECU need Peugeot Planet or DiagBox with a Lexia cable.

Autocom cable fits too it's just doesn't see him.Delphi software has of course Saxo in his date base, only have to find right cable.

I was looking for Lexia cables for older types and I found this

https://www.obdinnovations.com/30-pi...ugeot-citroen/

but this one I think is even for older cars.

Thanks Martin I will order cable from first post,I hope it will work.

Sorry I misunderstood your original post!

Delphi should be able to read the ECU.

Try the first cable and see what happens

After doing some research recently I found out that these older protocols are the reason why some diagnostic devices are not able to do they job.
You can check here what protocol it should support

http://pinoutguide.com/CarElectronic..._pinout.shtml#

Having said that ELM 327 v1.4 and older ver. can scan your car, I think it's the cheapest diagnostic tool.If your socket doesn't fit ELM 327 just find the right cable and you are back in business.

Apparently ELM327 does not work for Diesel engine, abs and airbag system,so if anyone can confirm that it would be great.

That's correct it doesn't work on diesel before 2004, any abs or airbag ecu.

I've had a 106 diesel with ecu and it won't read it correctly.

Yes as I explained already it won't work

Do you have a problem with the car? the ecu has almost no control over anything engine related so if you have a running issue, it's not going to be showing on the ECU.

No problem, but engine warning light is on.It's petrol engine, so ELM should work because it supports necessary protocols.

https://www.outilsobdfacile.com/vehi...e-obd2/citroen

and some members on this forum confirmed that it works.

Oh i see I thought it was a diesel model, my mistake!

I don't recognise an ELM version 1.5.

Genuine chip version numbers are listed here https://www.elmelectronics.com/products/ics/obd/

You need an adapter with a genuine ELM chip fitted to it. 1.3a/1.4b etc

There is cheaper version of Lexia PSA-COM, but I didn't find much references from the users about it.
