Was just thinking as you do, that doing a search brings back way too many unwanted items really. So was thinking of something that you could maybe select when writing a thread that would help sifting through the threads when searching easier and bring back more accurate threads. i.e. When starting a thread (in Problems and querys) you enter a title, then possible in a drop down menu you select something like Electrical or Engine bay. So when you do a search you can select electrical and either enter a title that referes to what you are searching for so it brings back less and more accurate results.
Just an idea thought it might make searching easier for people, as i know i dont really like it as it just brings back to much un wanted threads. (Probably my fault). Something to think about maybe?

Something to think about maybe... but if you use the search function properly (not being arsey here) you should only return back specific threads which meet your search criteria.

Try using more search words - make them specific and search only in specific forums if you know the post would have been posted in a specific forum?

as simo said the search function is fine for me, just need to learn to use it properly, theres a lot of features on it

Was only a thought not saying there is anything wrong with the search just thought it may make it easier for people that maybe dont use the search so often or are newbies.
