Closing your own thread
Could we be allowed to shut our own threads? As in the sale section?

giving any member power isnt a good thing.
leaves a system open to abuse, and willy nilly closing because something gets said they dont like.

if someone sold the item they had up for sale...by closing it...wouldnt get people posting 'ah i was interested in this...if only i had money last week and not this week' kinda stuff...and i know mods hate spammers...

Think it's a good idea JUST in the for sale section, so people cant spam the thread etc.
EDIT: Cliosport.net do it

good point. i wouldnt have thought of that tbh
allthough sometimes it can be useful, as said in the forsale section, but at the same time, the seller should post on that thread to say item sold to avoid spammers

once the item is sold then there is no need for anyone else to post in the thread which is why the person selling the item normally puts "Sold to xxxxx". the spam in the threads are dealt with by moderators and imo there isnt that much of it now

I just thought that when people start posting shite in peoples threads they should have the option of closing it. Also, it would mean that you wouldn't get people bumping threads that are 5 years old.
Makes sense in the forsale section imo. Also, just like to point out that

some of you act like it is though.
If its the case of having any member power why doesnt every forum adopt this policy and have no moderators?

report button. Use it and the thread gets locked. Too many people don't use this function. Theres always a mod online to deal with it!

What I find though on other forums is if members can close their own thread it causes a problem like:
Say a member starts a thread attacking another member,
they can bitch and whine to that member get 'the last word'
say something like su your a cunt etc
*Thread Locked*
An example to why this would be a bad idea.
